    Rejuvenated Movement Provides Hope In The Face Of Pandemic’s Spiritual Toll Feb 01, 2022

    In this episode of By Any Means Necessary, hosts Sean Blackmon and Jacquie Luqman are joined by Marc Steiner, Peabody Award-winning journalist and host of The Marc Steiner Show on The Real News Network to discuss the relatively small sums of money that the ultra-wealthy would have to pay to fund impactful services for working and poor people. The inability and outright refusal of the capitalist system to adequately tax the ultra-wealthy and provide for the needs of working and poor people, and the need for a movement of working and poor people to spur political action in the millionaires’ club that is Congress.
    In the second segment, Sean and Jacquie are joined by Aisha Jumaan, Founder and President of Yemen Relief and Reconstruction Foundation to discuss the deadly escalation in the ongoing war on Yemen and the mainstream media’s overemphasis on Houthi and Yemeni resistance to Saudi bombing campigns and inattention to the US role in the war, the geopolitical and economic aspects of the war wrapped in the broader US campaign for dominance, the United Arab Emirates’ efforts to institute colonial-like measures on Yemen, Joe Biden’s failure to deliver on his campaign promise to end US involvement in the war, and the role the anti-war movement can play in forcing an end to US involvement in the war.

    Corporate Media Spreads Ukraine Disinformation and Pushes For War Jan 31, 2022

    In this episode of By Any Means Necessary, hosts Sean Blackmon and Jacquie Luqman are joined by Dr. Bill Honigman, California State Coordinator and Co-Coordinator of the Healthcare as a Human Right Issue Organizing Team for Progressive Democrats of America to discuss the effort to pass single-payer health care in California, the opposition that the measure faces from the health insurance and pharmaceutical industries, how California’s proposed single-payer system would help reduce racial disparities in health, and how California’s effort can provide a starting point in the movement for medicare for all in the US.
    In the second segment, Sean and Jacquie discuss the anniversary of the murder of World War II veteran Louis Allen and its significance in the context of the Biden administration’s failure to pass reforms like the Build Back Better Bill and voting rights protection, how his murder exposes the mythology of American exceptionalism and the necessity of Black leaders to kowtow to the carnage of the American empire, and how that connects to the FBI’s refusal to protect Allen over his witnessing of murder by a white government official.
    In the third segment, Sean and Jacquie are joined by Dr. Wilmer Leon, co-host of The Critical hour, which you can hear from 6 to 8 PM EST right here on Radio Sputnik to discuss the foundational myth of the “shining city on a hill” that the United States is supposed to be as it casts so much of the world into darkness, the abject poverty and despair waged on working and poor people in the US that casts doubt on the “shining city” narrative, the disconnect between those in power who refuse to pass the Build Back Better bill and the people they claim to represent who would benefit from the bill, and the propaganda campaign waged against governments that provide for working and poor people as “authoritarians.”
    Later in the show, Sean and Jacquie are joined by Jon Jeter, award-winning journalist and foreign correspondent, radio and television producer, Bluesologist and Decolonizer, and author of the book “Flat Broke in the Free Market: How Globalization Fleeced Working People” to discuss the untold story of the tensions with Ukraine and the propaganda machine that artificially escalated the conflict, the revolving door of the media and the crackdown on dissent that often focuses on people of color, how the crackdown on dissent severely limits the narratives that we hear, and the advantages and disadvantages of using social media as a means of advancing struggle.

    In the second segment, Sean and Jacquie are joined by Dan Kovalik, author of The Plot to Overthrow Venezuela: How the US Is Orchestrating a Coup for Oil to discuss a recently revealed US military bombing of a dam in Syria that would have killed more people than the entire war, the US military’s continued operations in the country and the lack of access to information on what destruction the US continues to rain down on Syria, and the clear prioritization of war and death by the US government as essential necessities of life remain unfulfilled at home.
    In the third segment, Sean and Jacquie are joined by Nate Wallace, co-host of Red Spin Sports to discuss the loopholes in recent Minor League Baseball housing rights that would allow teams to essentially continue its practice of exploiting players as Major League Baseball’s owner-driven lockout continues, the propaganda campaign against China ramping up as it prepares for the upcoming Winter Olympics, and how sports plays into the broader cold war drive against China.

    Biden’s Supreme Court Pick Won’t Change The Court’s Ruling Class Character Jan 27, 2022

    In the third segment, Sean and Jacquie are joined by Dr. Jemima Pierre, Haiti/Americas Coordinator for the Black Alliance for Peace to discuss Joe Biden’s cruel record on immigration one year into his presidency, the continuation of cruel policies like Title 42 and the Remain in Mexico policy, the particular issues faced by Black migrants at the border and in Mexico, and the cruelty of the Biden administration deporting Haitians back to Haiti as it continues to destabilize the country and create conditions for danger.
