Is Ryan Day on the verge of naming his starting quarterback? The Buckeyes have their final scrimmage of camp on Saturday and it would not surprise us if Day named a starter when he meets with the media on Tuesday. Jonah Booker joins Dave Biddle to give his prediction on what will happen at the QB spot for the Buckeyes, plus:

** Are Larry Johnson and Jim Knowles not on the same page? Johnson was a bit defensive when meeting with reporters yesterday when asked about the "Jack" position and about using less of a rotation up front. Or perhaps there is nothing to it.

** Junior defensive tackle Tywone Malone -- a transfer from Ole Miss -- is having a strong camp for OSU and has solidified a spot on the two-deep.

** Speaking of transfers, if Josh Simmons -- who started at right tackle for San Diego State last year -- can lock down the starting left tackle job for the Buckeyes and play well, that would be massive for this offensive line.

Ohio State's offensive coordinator struck again on Sunday when the Buckeyes received a commitment from Jeremiah McClellan, who is ranked as the No. 17 WR in the country in the 2024 class by 247Sports. Ohio State also has commitments from the No. 1 WR (Jeremiah Smith) and the No. 6 WR (Mylan Graham) in the country, who are both 5-star prospects.

The safety position was a bit of a liability for Ohio State last season, but that does not appear to be the case this year. In fact, the Buckeyes appear to be stacked at the position, which features starters Sonny Styles, Lathan Ransom and Ja'Had Carter.
