Buckeyes' Christmas gift | Knowing more about Knowles | Rose Bowl motivation Dec 27, 2021

Show notes

Ohio State is just five days away from playing Utah in the Rose Bowl and there is much to discuss on today's show as Dave Biddle flies solo. First and foremost, the Buckeyes received a very nice gift on Christmas Day when DeaMonte Trayanum announced he was transferring from Arizona State to OSU and will play linebacker for the Buckeyes. What can be expected of him? We discuss that, plus:

* We've talked a lot about Jim Knowles, who will take over as Ohio State's defensive coordinator on Jan. 2. But let's talk about him even more because this appears to be a grand slam home run of a hire.

* How motivated is OSU to play in the Rose Bowl and how confident should you be in the Buckeyes this Saturday?

All of that and more is coming your way on the Monday 5ish.

Cowboy up? | Hitting on '22 Dec 23, 2021

Show notes

Has Ohio State identified its coach in the secondary for next season?

Possibly.

The Buckeyes are exploring all talent acquisitions avenues available and these days that means a lot more than just the recruiting trail. The transfer portal is a new way of life and Ohio State is learning to live with it like all programs have to.

That means possible Oklahoma State Cowboys en route alongside new Buckeyes defensive coordinator Jim Knowles. It means Ohioans who left for college possibly returning home to finish. It means a whole new world.

There's nobody better to offer navigation of this new scene than Bill Kurelic. The Dean of Ohio State Recruiting joins us to disperse quality info on portal permutations and how Ohio State plans cap the Class of 2022 recruiting cycle.

'Biggest shift of college football in our lifetimes' Dec 22, 2021

Show notes

Much has changed in college football over the last year or so. Major changes that have completely shifted the landscape of the sport we live. Players being able to transfer one time without sitting out a season. Players being able to profit off their name, image and likeness, and boosters more than willing to help their favorite program reel in recruits using NIL money.

While it is a good time to be a college football player, what about the sport itself? Is it as great as it always was? Even better? Worse? Too early to tell? What might the future hold?

Matt Baxendell joins Dave Biddle for an in-depth discussion on this matter, plus we look ahead to Ohio State's Rose Bowl matchup against Utah and more.

All of that is coming your way on the Wednesday 5ish.

And that's not all!
