    45. Jake Kiszka (Greta Van Fleet) Sep 27, 2017
    Show notes

Jake Kiszka is the guest on this mini ep as I chat with him while Greta Van Fleet was on tour in anticipation of their sold out show in Grand Rapids. This interview was done for a feature I'm still in the process of writing, so it's a little more Michigan centric than most of my other chats. We delve into some of the bands songs and how they've morphed over the years and ended up on their newest EP, Black Smoke Rising. What working with Al Sutton was like, and how the sudden success of the band is from their perspective. 44. Jason Schipper Sep 26, 2017
    Show notes

This week's guest is my best friend, none of you know him, but this is a chat between him and I about how our 17 year friendship was spurned by a love of music, and being obnoxious teens who carried those 300 page cd binders around with us in school. Over the years our friendship has seen us spend countless hours listening to all kind of music from the nu metal realm, until we moved to Lansing MI and each went down our own musical paths. I went more into the metal and hardcore scene that was starting to take shape in the early 2000's, while Jason went more into the punk world that was seeing its own reemergence as well. Hear how while we've maintained our friendship, and sound like old jaded music people as we try and keep up with new bands and trends as best as 2 30 somethings can. Intro Music: "Ambition" and "Chin Ups" by Chae Hawk Outro Music: "Power Trip" by Chimiara Links: Facebook/Instagram/Youtube: @Jonsuntitledpodcast Twitter: @jonsuntitledpod Email: Jonsuntitledpod@gmail.com

    43. Stu McCallister (Comedian) Sep 14, 2017
    Show notes

My guest this week is Stu McCallister. Stu is a local comic that's been around for awhile and someone I've admired for being the face of our local comedy scene for a long time, from mentoring younger comics, to branching out and helping other creative individuals with their various endeavors. Stu has his own podcast, LMNO Podcast that offers listeners a unique perspective on the goings on in Stu's life as well as his take on pop culture things. We enjoyed a rather long chat that ranges from talking about how comedy specials are anything but anymore, how the comedy world is very akin to the music world. We also get into how I worked in a strip club as one of my first jobs and what it was like working as a social worker for Stu. Had a fun time having Stu over at my place and doing a face to face chat, hope you do too!! We also get into how Josh carved out a career playing bass for so many bands, and how his love of gear has helped him transition into teching for bands like Fall Out Boy and Kings of Leon and much more.
