The amounts of money in this heist are staggering. Five hundred million in art stolen, a ten million dollar reward. St. Patricks Day 1990, the famous Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum is robbed of 13 pieces of art. Some of the most famous and valuable works by the great masters were stolen. "The Storm of the Sea of Galilee" by Rembrandt and "The Concert" by Vermeer were among the items that vanished. Images of pajama clad international art thieves came to mind, however the actual thieves were simply, achingly Boston. The FBI claims they have solved this case, however no one was ever indicted, nor was any artwork recovered. Please share this episode!

Plymouth Mail Truck Robbery 1962-The equivalent of 13 Million in cash stolen, and never recovered Oct 10, 2021

In August 1962 the U.S.Postal Service wanted to save money on armored car services. Instead, they had a truck driver and one guard transport money, in mail trucks from Cape Cod post offices, to the Federal Reserve Bank in Boston. What could go wrong? It took local criminals about three weeks to rob this truck of millions. The media coverage was intense and the government sent postal inspectors to investigate. Local gangsters were not impressed deriding them as "Stamp Police". A record breaking reward of $150,000 (1.3 Million today) was presented, but never claimed. The defendants, tied to Rhode Island organized crime were ultimately acquitted at trial. This case remains unsolved and no money was ever recovered.

As the internet was taking off, Michael McDermott would seemingly be in a great position for success. He was a computer genius and was writing software code for a leading technology company, Edgewater Technologies, located in what has been described as Boston's Silicon Valley, Route 128, the technology belt. The IRS and a car repo company were breathing down his neck and Mike suffered from extreme depression. All of this crashed to the surface just after Christmas 2000. Seven Co-workers were gunned down and Metro-Boston would be changed forever. Could this massacre have been prevented?

Blackfriars Massacre 1978-Five men with strong organized crime ties, shotgunned in a dank basement Sep 26, 2021
    Show notes

In 1978 Boston was quite a different place. Organized crime had very little fear of the police or FBI, mostly because local gangsters had them on the payroll. On June 28, 1978 five bodies were discovered in the dank and dark basement of Blackfriars Pub. The bar was a constant hangout for both Italian and Irish organized crime. Investigators found $15,000 dollars in an unlocked safe, significant amounts of cocaine and marijuana were also present. Was this an organized crime hit or a robbery? Rumors swirled that $300,000 (1.2 million in today's money) in cocaine was taken and was for sale on the street within hours. Two men were arrested and tried for the grizzly homicides. They were not convicted at trial and the crime remains unsolved, police seem absolutely uninterested in pursuing this case on any level.

She was left to die in Franklin Field, Dorchester, Ma. Eight men and boys, members of the Franklin Field Pistons Gangs were ultimately charged. The level of depravity shocked the City of Boston as the perpetrators were her neighbors. A shocking and senseless murder.

Jeffery Curley-Part 2 Charles Jaynes is the poster boy for capital punishment Sep 12, 2021

    Send a text

1997-Charles Jaynes is likely the most infamous murderer in modern Massachusetts history. Jaynes and his codefendant Sal Sicari groomed ten year old Jeffery Curley. The duo then murdered the child and defiled his body multiple times. DNA and a host of other evidence ties both defendants to a throughly heinous crime. Massachusetts came one vote shy of restoring the death penalty, that's how vile this crime was. The media coverage was gauged to be akin to the OJ Simpson trial. In true Massachusetts fashion Jaynes was eligible for parole in 2020. Don't miss this episode !

Sean Ellis Part 1 (replay) The HBO series Trial 4 is fatally slanted toward the defendant Aug 30, 2021
    Show notes

    Send a text

The HBO film Trial 4, is a virtual hagiography for Sean Ellis. The HBO-Netflix documentary is so slanted in favor of Sean Ellis it is difficult to digest. In order to believe Sean Ellis is innocent, you'd have to believe that his uncle, best friend, and girlfriend were (are) lying. To our knowledge none of these witnesses, that tied Ellis directly to the brutal 1993, homicide recanted their testimony, why? Sean Ellis's co-defendant told the police Sean Ellis shot Det. Mulligan five times in the face, Sean's girlfriend testified Sean brought the guns to her house, she left her fingerprint on the weapon. Sean's Uncle Dave asked Sean where the guns were, Sean gave detailed information as to where and how the guns were hidden, that is exactly how the weapons were recovered. So The question is where is the mystery in this case? It is true that corrupt police detectives were involved in Sean Ellis's case, the remedy for that is a retrial, but claims of actual innocence? That is simply a gigantic leap in logic.

Sean Ellis Part 2 -Replay- The HBO Series Trial is a farce Aug 22, 2021
    Show notes

    Send a text

(REPLAY) In order to believe Sean Ellis is innocent, you'd have to believe, the Boston Police Forensic Unit, took Letia Walker's fingerprints at the courthouse and then proceeded to place a print on the gun that killed Det Mulligan. Did the technology to conduct this conspiracy exist in 1993? Does it even exist now? Letia Walker, Sean Ellis's girlfriend, went on to testify that Sean brought the guns into her house. Mrs. Walker had ample opportunity to recant her testimony, why hasn't she? If you notice, she never denied she touched the gun. Why wouldn't the producers ask Mrs. Waker directly, if she touched the gun? She was sitting right there, on camera. The answer is if she answered truthfully Sean Ellis is guilty. This story proved too good to actually investigate. Trial 4 is so defendant slanted it should come with a warning label.
