REPLAY:Bella Bond age 2, living in a cornucopia of disfunction, she soon washed up on Deer Island Jun 06, 2021
    Show notes

    Send a text

Hello all, we are on vacation this week, please review Bella's story, its a replay from earlier in the year. We'll be back at it next week!
One of New England's most heart wrenching homicides. Bella's mother already had two children taken by child services due to severe abuse and neglect, how did the Commonwealth conclude that she was fit to care for another baby? Bella's mother was a lifelong hard core drug addict and petty criminal, her live in boyfriend was worse, if that is even possible.
A great article on the Bond tragedy by Beverly Beckham of the Boston Globe (linked below)
This is what haunts me. That Bella Bond's horrific murder was not a single act of violence, an aberration in an up-to-then perfect, storybook life. But that this little girl suffered every day.

Conceived in a drug-induced haze in an Occupy Boston tent, she never met her father. Prosecutors say she was murdered on a mattress on a cluttered floor, allegedly by her mother's boyfriend, stuffed in a trash bag, shoved in a refrigerator, thrown into a duffel bag with a couple of weights so she wouldn't float up, then tossed into the sea.

This is what we know about Bella Bond. And what we know is sickening.

But what we don't know may be even worse.

Danny Croteau 13-This case resembles a Law and Order episode, but the horror was real May 30, 2021
    Show notes

    Send a text

In 1972 the Croteau family had a traditionally large Catholic family, the five sons were alter boys. Father Richard Lavigne was the parish priest. Dan threatened to reveal that Lavigne was suppling him with alcohol and molesting him. Shortly thereafter, Dan was found floating in the Chicopee River in Springfield, Massachusetts. Father Lavigne was an immediate suspect, Dan's brothers admitted that Father Lavigne was also molesting them and others. State Police investigators informed the Springfield Archdiocese of this evil, they turned a blind eye and did nothing on the issues of murder and rape. In 1992 Lavigne was charged with two counts of indecent assault and battery on two boys. He received probation, more than 100 children eventually accused Lavigne of sexual abuse. The church paid out millions to the survivors of Lavigne's abuse. The Catholic Church took another decade to remove Lavigne as a priest. The case was never really cold, the police knew exactly who did this crime. Lavigne came close enough to a confession in 2021, so much so, that he was going to be arrested, however on the day of his arrest he died of covid-19 related symptoms. He cheated justice one final time.

Rod Matthews told two friends he wanted to kill a person with a bat or knife. He showed them a list, he whittled it down and decided that 14yr old Shaun Ouillette, would not be missed. Rod fulfilled his evil fantasy, with ruthless efficiency. He has been denied parole twice, but is the third time the charm? Statistically yes, would you like Mr. Matthews sitting next to you and yours on the bus?

Jack and Geraldine Magee 2011-Millionaire real estate developers, murdered at home. May 09, 2021
    Show notes

    Send a text

Jack and Gerri Magee, appeared ready to retire from a lucrative career in luxury real estate development. The business transition from father to son, appeared to be going smoothly. No readily apparent family jealousy. An impeccable business reputation and a solid financial history leave few avenues of investigation in this case. The couple's SUV was stolen and set a blaze in Boston's North End neighborhood, the night before the bodies were discovered. This is a seemingly ham-fisted attempt to implicate the Boston faction of the Italian mob in the double homicide. The investigation for a time, seemed to center on the Jupiter, Florida home the couple had purchased. The investigation appears to have stalled.

Gary Lee Sampson-Tried to turn himself into the FBI, He went on to kill three in 2001 May 02, 2021
    Show notes

Gary Lee Sampson seemed straight out of central casting for a stereotypical drifter. Gary may have been the world's worst criminal. He escaped prison, as a juvenile, but that was likely his primary criminal achievement. Gary Lee Sampson stained everyone he encountered, alcohol simply turned him into a fiend. He robbed several banks in the Carolina's, with the police on his trail, he drove to Abington, Massachusetts. Upon arrival he called the Boston field office of the FBI to turn himself in. They hung up on him. He waited for hours for them to come and pick him up. They never did, the next day he began a murderous rampage. Do not miss this episode!

David Cox was involved in the actual "A Few Good Men" case, did it get him killed? Apr 25, 2021
    Show notes

    Send a text

The movie "A Few Good Men" was based on real life events. David Cox was a motivated Marine Scout Sniper on Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. He did participate in a code red that inspired the movie, however in reality no one died as a result of the hazing. The police believe that David may have known his killer. His body was found in a nature reserve on the Charles River. It was a twenty minute walk into this secluded area, between two shooting ranges. There was almost a foot of newly fallen snow in the area, yet he did not wear boots, however in a startling contrast, David was attired in some military gear, that he seldom chose to wear, was this a ruse? This case is a real whodunit!! Please share this episode! Subscribe on Apple or Spotify!

The phrase "if I can't have you, no one will" was a common utterance at the Melo household. Luis Melo stalked his wife, he needed to know where she was at ALL times, until she went missing in 2000. Then, he refused to help look for his wife. He told police he searched Weymouth for Debra, the night she disappeared. Cell phone records, revealed he never left Taunton. Luis failed a polygraph test and soon stopped cooperating with police or family. Its been twenty-one years will Debra Melo ever get justice? Michelle Carter-She badgered Conrad Roy to commit suicide, was she guilty of a crime? Apr 11, 2021
    Show notes

    Send a text

Conrad Roy, was a young man in crisis. He had previously attempted suicide, but appeared to be making progress with counseling and medication. He then crossed paths with Michelle Carter, she was suffering from her own mental health struggles. Conrad committed suicide in 2014, a routine examination of his cell phone, revealed dozens of dark and suicidal text messages between the couple. In fact, Michelle, had ordered Conrad back into the truck (as it filled carbon monoxide) when he expressed doubts about killing himself. The Commonwealth of Massachusetts found Michelle's text messages to be evidence of manslaughter and a completely depraved heart. She was charged with involuntary manslaughter. The legal question was, can words alone be the direct cause of a suicide? Michelle was more than thirty miles away, was she guilty? was she evil? Tune in to find out. Please share our podcast! Feel free to leave a review on Apple, it really helps!

Jennifer Fay, a beautiful 16yr old disappeared from hardscrabble Brockton, Massachusetts in November 1989. She attended a series of parties in her neighborhood, she never returned. The police lost precious time treating the case as a runaway. The Fay's were told the police were coming to the house with a trained police dog and an evidence collection team. They NEVER came. Jennifer was last seen talking to what is described as an older man, who was sitting in a brown pick up truck. The truck disappeared when Jennifer did, it has never been re-registered, never been sold, never been listed as destroyed. The police won't release the truck owners name. The Fay family believes that Jennifer's friends know what likely happened to her, but refuse to cooperate with police. If you have any information on this case please call the Brockton Police at 508-941-0200.
