RELEASING 2020 RE-RELEASE: KylEast Singer, Songwriter: An Artist’s Journey With An Eating Disorder Dec 22, 2020
    Show notes

This year has been a doozy! Thank you for your listens and embarking on your own creative journey along with us. We sincerely hope we are creating space and permission with these conversations and providing tools and tips for your own life and process.

This episode's re-release is in honor of all of you who may be struggling with an addiction or have someone in your life that is or might be. Even if you don't listen, there are resources in these show notes you can utilize.

The holiday's can make this struggle an even harder one. This our reminder to you that YOU ARE NOT ALONE.

This RE-RELEASE features KylEast, a powerful singer songwriter. Stay tuned to the end of this episode to be able to listen to her single CHAINS in it’s entirety.

A recent review of the song by All Ashore explains the theme really well:

“[KylEast] tackles body dysmorphia and anorexia in another industrial, synth-laden gut punch. Her words begin as hushed lamentations before leaping into a full rage against the commodification of self, spitting such condemnations as “Here she is / Your worthless wonder,” with as much contempt as empathy. It lays bare the horrors of feeling ashamed of your own body while still attempting to talk yourself out of a hole. Her delivery is drenched with conviction and the drive of someone who has personal experience with the words they sing. If KylEast aimed for a body image anthem, she has absolutely succeeded.”

    Visit KylEast's website: www.kyleast.com

    Instagram: @KylEastMusic

Get CHAINS on iTunes or Spotify

Releasing 2020 With Joy Shannon: How Healing & Creativity Intersect Episode 44 Dec 15, 2020
    Show notes

The amazing Joy Shannon is our guest on today’s show and we talk about her life long journey with creativity and healing and how the two intersect. Her new album The Cave is being released with "releasing" in mind by making it available on the Winter Solstice (a day of ritual and releasing) I think this conversation is the perfect note to end 2020 on (no pun intended) as well. When we let go, we make room for more magic and opportunity to come into our lives and the journey Joy Shannon shares has wonderful examples of these life moments.

Be sure to tune to the whole episode because we are going to play the entire sneak peak of her not-yet-released song Cloister from the album The Cave at the end of the episode.

We want to wish you happy holidays and to let you know that we will still be sharing some fun things weekly with you in the coming weeks but our Season 4 with brand new full episodes will be coming to you starting January 12th.

    Show notes

I want to talk about your voice and your message. Many of you are creative people and some of you are building platforms for yourselves and some of you are on a self love and healing journey. Some of you are all of those things. And knowing and understanding your purpose and/or mission can serve all of these endeavors. It helps you create a more intentional life down to your day to day habits. It can influence how you create boundaries, how you show up for people, how you show up for yourself and how you make decisions, it really can be the source of all the things you choose in your life. But how do you start to become aware of your purpose or message in life? It can feel daunting when asked that question, like “what is your purpose in life”. But of course we’re going to start small. Tune in for three easy steps to discover YOUR purpose and mission. *share with me what your personal purpose and mission statements are in the Apple Podcasts review section and I will share them in next week's episode! *I'm looking to be inspired by YOU this week, share with me an episode idea and I will create it, as my personal gift to you during what I like to call (drum roll...) Shana Bianchi of Mindful Divine: Mindfully Shifting Into A Life of Purpose & Intention Episode 42 Dec 01, 2020
    Show notes

What does it mean to be our whole selves? Why do we keep parts of ourselves separate and compartmentalized? What parts of ourselves do we bring with us when we show up in different communities and in different roles? And what would it feel like to be “whole” and unapologetic when it comes to who we really are…as our authentic selves?

My guest today is Shana Bianchi of Mindful Divine and we talk about lots of things but this idea of incorporating our whole selves into all parts of our lives is at the core of our conversation. Shana talks about what it took for her to “shift” into this way of life and thinking and I personally relate to her story quite a bit.

I am doing myself and my purpose a disservice whenever I don’t allow my whole self to participate. This conversation with Shana was a great reminder of that and I am challenging myself to show up even more in this way. And maybe it will incite you to do the same.

So get cozy and get ready to be inspired and learn how to lean into your whole self a little more.

The Power of Words Episode 41 Nov 24, 2020
    Show notes

Kind words are a creative force, a power that concurs in the building up of all that is good, and energy that showers blessings upon the world." —Lawrence G. Lovasik The power of words has changed my life many times but one of the most powerful ways in which I had to discover the way I used my OWN words was when I was asked to observe how I talk to myself. Many of us spend a lot of our energy talking negatively to ourselves and I was definitely not the exception. I had no idea how mean and unkind I was to myself. And not just to myself but also the self-talk permeated into areas of my life around the things that I did. Like one of my favorite reframes I refer to is the small question “what if it were easy?”

We could all use the occasional self-talk tune-up. In this episode we break down a way to begin and if you're familiar with how this process works, it's the perfect reminder to check in with ourselves again. Enjoy!

Gregory Locklear, TV Writer: The Imposter Within & Working Alongside It Episode 37 Oct 27, 2020
    Show notes

We are on the topic of Imposter Syndrome and this conversation with Gregory Locklear is one of the most candid, honest and authentic featured thus far on Be Bold Begin. I brought my lapel mics and field recording device to visit Greg in his new Hollywood home so we could talk casually and comfortably which we very much did.

We relate over old café conversations about how we would build our dreams, the difficulties of living in Los Angeles, our shared lives in the hospitality industry and of course more specifically Imposter Syndrome.

    Gregory's background includes:

    • Producer of an award winning indie documentary called Corman’s World: Exploits of A Hollywood Rebel
    • Script coordinator on TV Series like I Love Dick, Transparent, Happy!, and Project Blue Book.
    • Director’s Assistant on Marco Polo.
    • Script Coordinator on the Netflix series On Fate: the winx Saga Season 1
    • And now staff writer of Season 2 of Fate: the Winx Saga.
