Welcome back for another episode of the Booked on Fantasy Podcast! We continue this week with Heir of Fire chapters 44-47.

This set of chapters was 1 part uplifting (ha, get it?) and 3 parts horrifying discovery, and we are not okay!
Manon and Abraxos finally make the leap, literally, and for a few nerve racking pages their fates hung in the balance, but with a Abraxos' spider silk wings, Manon's sheer determination and grit, and a little dumb luck, they successfully make the crossing. Back in Mistward, Celaena and Rowan are back in their CSI hats and make a horrifying discovery, that leaves the fates of not only them, but everyone in Mistward in the balance. Heir of Fire: Ch 40-43 Review & Analysis | Chaol’s Allegiance, Alluring Magic, & Nurse Rowan Oct 10, 2024

Welcome back for another episode of the Booked on Fantasy Podcast! We continue this week with Heir of Fire chapters 40-43.

To our surprise and delight this set of chapters turned out to be an emotional roller coaster ride. We laughed, we cried, and ultimately ended feeling hopeful about what the promise of tomorrow would bring for our beloved characters.

In Rifthold, Chaol’s allegiance is questioned by both Dorian and Aedion. Though he makes it clear he will stand with whatever Dorian decides, will it be enough? Meanwhile, Celaena and Rowan test the boundaries of her abilities at the Beltane celebration which leads to near burnout, a deepening of their relationship, and a major shift in Celaena’s self perception and skills.

Heir of Fire: Ch 36-39 Review & Analysis | Free Beer, Free Spidersilk, & Free Tattoo Therapy Oct 03, 2024

Welcome back for another episode of the Booked on Fantasy Podcast! This episode is a big milestone for us, as it is our 50th episode, YAY!!! Thank you to everyone has listened along with us. We looked forward to the many more episodes to come. Today we officially kick off part 2 of Heir of Fire, as we continue with chapters 36-39.

Chaol and Aedion hatch a plan to get information from recently returned Adarlanian soldiers. Using a clever drinking game, they meet Commander Jensen, a solider recently returned from Noll, which is home a to a mysterious black stone tower. Meanwhile, Manon embarks on a side quest to get spidersilk from the mythical Stygian spiders. Most people have to bargain for this priceless material, but not Manon. With the help of Abraxos she manages to flee with her life and the spidersilk. Celaena and Rowan have a much needed tattoo therapy session where she discloses more about her past than she’s ever shared with anyone. Their conversation makes it clear their relationship has turned the corner for the better, at least we hope.

Manon finally gets airborne with our cat reincarnated wyvern, Abraxos, who would much rather sniff flowers than risk his life flying. But once airborne for the first time, his joy was undeniable.

Back in Mistward, Celaena finally tries to befriend Rowan and snoop a little bit, only to be cruelly shut down. Fortunately, there was no time to stay enemies because a training session gone wrong led to the discovery of a giant hangry ancient creature. Upon arriving back to the fortress Emrys, ever the emotionally intelligent father figure, gets everyone to come together with a home cooked meal and gives them a stern but loving talk.

While investigating the recent string of mysterious deaths Celaena uses her ultimate secret weapons to glean information from the local villagers, her ability to shop till she drops! Chaol finally gets the answers he's been waiting for about the day magic disappeared in Erilea, but must pretend to be a patron of an opium den before he gets the full story. Chaol finally discovers what the big deali-o is with Aedion, and consequently enters into a partnership - information about Aelin for information about the king’s magic. Meanwhile Dorian has been getting close with the healer, Sorscha, and ends up unintentionally revealing his magic to her. She promises his secret is safe and that she will help him find a way to subdue his magic. Back in Mistward, Celaena has still not mastered how to shift, but a frightening encounter with some skinwalkers forces her to do so. With Rowan’s help, she successfully blasts the skinwalkers into crispy bacon, but is this the end or just the beginning of the mysterious creepy creatures?

Heir of Fire: Ch 1-7 Review & Analysis | Rooftop Degeneracy, Bloodthirsty Witches & a Shadow Daddy (?) Aug 22, 2024

Welcome back to the Booked On Fantasy Podcast! We are thrilled to dive back into the current timeline of events, as we begin our deep dive of Heir of Fire. Celaena arrives in Wendlyn, and after a week of semi-degenerate spying, she resolves she wouldn’t be assassinating her targets, but per Elena’s request she would, “do what needs to be done.” Celaena decides she needs answers from her great aunt, the Fae Queen Maeve, and we are introduced to Rowan and it’s pretty clear to us that this broody mythical man just might be our new shadow daddy.

TOG Series Bonus Chapter: The Captain and the Prince | Review & Reaction Aug 15, 2024

Welcome back to the Booked On Fantasy Podcast! Today we are diving into the bonus chapter titled, “The Captain and the Prince.” This extra scene takes place between The Assassin’s Blade and Throne of Glass - however, we are analyzing it after completing TAB, TOG, and COM. This scenes takes place in Dorian's chambers and consists of a conversation between Dorian and Chaol roughly a year after Celaena had been captured.
