Scott Anderson is founder and CEO of Doubledare, an executive coaching and consulting practice which dares entrepreneurs and executives to fully live their unique talent, passion and purpose.
Since 1982, Anderson has managed closely-held family businesses, launched four for-profit companies (sold them) and two not-for-profit organizations.
Anderson received his undergraduate degree from Brown University, graduated summa cum laude from the University of Nebraska at Omaha with a master’s degree in clinical counseling, and is a licensed mental health therapist. He is also certified as an executive coach by The Coaches Training Institute and the International Coach Federation.
In 2007, Anderson founded At Ease USA (www.AtEaseUSA.org) a research accelerator that develops and distributes leading edge PTSD treatment technology for military families, first responders, survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, and children recovering from abuse. Anderson published his first book, Playing Big, in 2013.

Where did the idea for Xcelrate UDI come from?
I’ve always been a patient advocate. That’s where my idea and passion for this company comes from.
I started out in my teens working in a medical office. I remained in that space. In my 20s, I became more aware of the number of patients dying in cases where a surgeon wasn’t talking to the primary health provider about pre-existing conditions. So, that market problem popped up for me very early on.
Fast-forward to 2013, I became more aware when the FDA was promoting the Unique Device identifier (UDI), a scannable barcode, on medical devices as a way to track medical devices and potentially recalled items..
When you’re looking at a medical device, when it’s in your hand, how do you know if it’s recalled? Is that device being tracked in the electronic health record (EHR)? All medical devices for Class II and Class III (primarily implantable devices) required UDI barcoding by 2018. Then you have expired items… Mistakes happen, how can you keep expired items from being used when they remain on the shelves?
It was time for us to create a solution. We know what’s in the barcode. We take that data and parse it into the EHR. Xcelrate UDI is the only 3rd-party application that does this and is certified by the ONC to do that. Our solution allows healthcare providers to capture the full UDI data for each item scanned, and leverage our workflow automation to parse the UDI data into the patients’ EHR in less than 5 seconds! We’re the first with this solution and the technology.

I was diagnosed with testicular cancer in 2010, laid off from my job in 2011, and both difficult situations were also blessings in disguise. It was and still feels unreal. I could have thrown in the white towel, but these experiences only helped me hone in on living my passions. I stopped doing work that didn’t fit with my passions, focus and strengths and worked on things I truly cared about. Of course I was scared and still get scared of failure, but it’s natural. I use it as a motivation tool.
I’m a seasoned speaker, author of the book Bring Gratitude and writer who helps entrepreneurs turn their struggles into stepping stones. This allows people to be happier, more productive and do work that they care about. I’m really a big dork with some cool superpowers. I love my family, my dog (when she isn’t digging in my backyard), Yoga, business books, and journaling.

Vernon Brown was born in Richmond, VA where he resides till this day with his 3-year-old son, Logan. Vernon struggled the first 20 years of his life trying to make sense of where he belonged. Vernon came from an abusive and drug-ridden household.
He studied Psychology at VCU and has a certificate in Fine Arts from John Tyler Community College.
Vernon worked as a model, an actor in NY and as a Personal Trainer for many years. However, that was not fulfilling for the change he wanted to see in people. For the past five years, he has studied and coached hundreds of men and women on finding and sustaining their true HAPPIness.
