On today’s show I take a trip to Madrid, Spain where I have a great conversation with Fernando Gutierrez of Dash. For those of you not familiar with Dash, Dash is Digital Cash. More importantly, Dash is a technology leader in the digital currency space, with a rapid pace of deploying new innovations. The Dash developers have delivered a number of “firsts”, such as the first privacy-centric transaction system, the first to enable nearly instant payments, the first to enable user governance and the first to create a sustainable self-funding model. Join me now listeners for a very informative and enlightening interview. (Note: This episode of Bitcoins and Gravy is brought to you by my friends over at Cryptocompare.com. For a quick and easy way to keep up to speed with the exciting world of cryptocurrencies, check out www.Cryptocompare.com). *********************************************************** A note from Fernando Gutierrez; “This past weekend I attended a Festival that I think you would have enjoyed a lot. It is called the Internet Freedom Festival (https://internetfreedomfestival.org/) and it is about keeping the internet open and free of censorship. All kinds of cool people around. I could only go for the weekend (it had started on Tuesday), but it was totally worth the 800 km drive. It was not about cryptocurrencies, but I thought we should have some representation because cryptos are a tool of freedom, so I hosted a session on Privacy, Bitcoin and Dash. It was a blast. Sometimes when you go out of the purely cryptocurrency space it is much easier to enjoy this kind of things. Most projects don't have money involved, so the mood is much better. I wish we could have that kind of altruistic idealism in our space too! ************************************************************** TRANSCRIPTIONS: Great news listeners! In this sermon the right Reverend Johnny preaches about the evils that exist in todays world and about the path that we must follow if we hope to find redemption. A good life is not about fame and fortune and it's not about wielding power or controlling others. We must have the strength of character to fight the good fight and to fight as Peaceful Warriors against hierarchical structures that shroud themselves in opacity and persuade people to tithe. Life should be about putting your love of each other ABOVE your love of money, fame and fortune. It's about integrity and transparency and having the courage and fortitude to take a personal pilgrimage - to journey away from closed systems and to realize that open source = open hearts. Closed source systems and softwares are simply synonymous with Satan. John 1:1:16
Let It Grow To the tune of: Let It Snow 1945 Jule Styne & Sammy Cahn WARNING: These lyrics may not match the recording. Lyrics by John Barrett Copyright 2015 RJM Publishing BMI – Nashville, Tennessee Oh the currencies they’re all crashing While my bitcoin friends are stashing Deflation is all we know - so Let It Grow, Let It Grow, Let It Grow Some people say not to I hoard it But if you can afford it Find a place where it’s safe to stow - and Let It Grow, Let It Grow, Let It Grow! And if I ever cash it in For the Gold and the Silver and tin I’ll be living in Waikiki MaryAnne, Ginger and me While the bankers are busy cryin And the Wall Street crooks are fryin My stash will be building - so Let It Grow, Let It Grow, Let It Grow And if I ever cash it in For the Gold and the Silver and tin I’ll be living in Waikiki MaryAnne, Ginger and me Some people say not to I hoard it But if you can afford it Find a place where it’s safe to stow - and Let It Grow, Let It Grow, Let It Grow!
On today’s show I head over to Tenn 16, one of East Nashville’s great little eateries where I meet up with Melvin, Aaron, Kate and Bob of the New Nashville BitLunch meetup group. During lunch we talk about the youth unemployment crisis here and abroad, the miserable failure of a Vancouver bitcoin ATM machine, the prestigious Vanderbilt University Computer Science Department and everything else bitcoin related. The BitLunch meetup group is a revolving group of great folks who enjoy getting together once a week at a local restaurant to eat lunch, share stories and talk each others’ ears off about bitcoin, bitcoin and more bitcoin! Also on this episode We review the Bitcoin Music of 2015 Featuring some of the greatest musical compositions ever written in the history of the world - the Bitcoin world that is! Thanks to our sponsor Moonshine Cowboy Boot Wax, the Original, All Natural, non-toxic boot wax with a scent of orange. www.MoonshineBootWax.com To order any of these fine all-natural, non-toxic products, just head over to MoonshineBootwax.com. Use your credit card, your debit card or better yet . . . pay with Bitcoin! If anyone out there feels filled with the Christmas Spirit of giving, please scroll down to find my bitcoin address at the very bottom of the show notes and send me a small tip. If you’ve never done this before, it’s actually easier to do than you might think and it’s also a fun experience. Here’s how: First, just copy the bitcoin address found at the bottom of the show notes. Next, go to www.Blockchain.info and paste the Bitcoin address there. You’ll immediately see public information about my wallet as well as the QR code for my wallet. This QR code and the associated number here in the show notes is called my Public Key. Then just use the bitcoin wallet you have installed on your smartphone. Scan my QR code and send a small tip my way. And listen, if you think a $1.00 tip is too small, then think again. A dollar in bitcoins, sent to me from ten listeners out there will buy me lunch. And that’s not all, it also makes me feel that there actually IS someone out there who is listening to the show and appreciating the hard work that I put into the show each week. So if you’ve enjoyed the music and if you’ve enjoyed the show this week, please send a small bitcoin tip my way. Even 25 cents in bitcoin will put a smile on my face and coffee in the kettle. I’m a hard working guy with two jobs, so your help is much appreciated.
