#270 Varied Letters With a Common Theme Aug 03, 2022
    Show notes

As listeners continue to share their stories with Blyss and Dr. Stu, the fact that so many OBs & MFMs continue to dis-empower women, to the point of them doubting their bodies, only becomes more and more puzzling. They also possess the ability to birth them, instinctually, under a wide variety of circumstances. In this episode, we hear many women’s stories about their struggles with finding supportive care. We also hear of some triumphs, which bless Dr. Stu and Blyss with a sense of pride and purpose for the impact they continue to make on mothers around the world.

#268 Against All Odds: A Birth Worker’s Journey with Lindsey Meehleis Jul 20, 2022
    Show notes

Acclaimed birth worker, Lindsey Meehleis, joins Dr. Stu and Blyss for a passionate conversation about their profession. Lindsey is a mom and traditional spiritual midwife who has been serving childbearing women through birth, lactation and emotionally through trauma release work since 2004. #262 They Just Keep Doing That Jun 08, 2022
    Show notes

In this episode, Blyss and Dr. Stu discuss the difference between a Colposcopy, LEEP and Cone Biopsy. They also share a variety of letters from listeners–many who were left without answers or dealt with health care professionals that lack awareness of social cues. Today’s show is yet another reminder of the unfortunate fact that the fear of the birth person or team you hire is sometimes the catalyst for the resistance to the birth you deserve and desire.

In this episode of Birthing Instincts:

    • Pondering what is and is not a “waste of time”
    • What is ectropion of the cervix?
    • The difference between a colposcopy, LEEP & cone biopsy

    #261 Fear is a Thief Jun 01, 2022
    Show notes

Today, Dr. Stu and Blyss take a glance into the past to inform the present. Dr. Stu reads a chapter about the history of whooping cough from a book he’s been reading titled, “Dissolving Illusions: Disease, Vaccines, and The Forgotten History”. Although the book was published nine years ago, and its focus is historical, it offers lots of insight into the development, administration, and propaganda behind the world’s current most popular vaccine. This episode serves as a stark reminder that history repeats itself.

In this episode of Birthing Instincts:

    • Differing perceptions of pain
    • Comparing the covid and whooping cough vaccine
    • Dr. Stu reads an excerpt from “Dissolving Illusions”
    • How the medical paradigm can create widespread cognitive dissonance
    • Reasons not to trust organizations of authority
