Show notes

Everyone knows that after a five course meal of your best friend/good friend, the best way to unwind is with a large goblet of TRAUMA! Let's pour our glasses full! Shauna can tell us about how to roll back skin, Van can be incredibly helpful by explaining what part of Jackie Taissa ate TO TAISSA WHO IS ALREADY ENTIRELY DISSOCIATING, and Ben can imagine what life might have been like if he'd stayed in the loving arms of his clam-chowder making boyfriend while we all weep. Fun!

It's Season 2, Episode 3: "Digestif." Notes of chocolate horror, mulberry, and full-body-panic.

Our episodes are spoiler-free, so you can watch along with us in real time if you haven't seen the series yet, and each episode will also include a segment at the end called "What's The Buzz" where we talk about some spoilery theories for those of you who have seen the whole first season and who might be as deep into Reddit as Jenny...

The Boiler Room: Interview with Winnie Holzman Dec 08, 2024

Show notes

This episode originally aired on February 18, 2020.

Winnie Holzman!!!!!! Do we even need to say more?!?! In a (very very) special bonus episode, Joanna had the chance to talk to show creator Winnie Holzman about My So-Called Life, 25 years after it changed our lives forever. They discuss how the idea for the show came about, how Winnie so perfectly harnessed the inner monologue of Angela (and most of us...), the power of owning your sexuality and desire as a woman and a teenage girl, and so much more.

They even both CRY AT THE END. *sob*
