Do justice. Love kindness. Walk humbly. Nov 22, 2015
    Show notes

The church is Christ's hands and feet to our broken world. On this special Global Sunday, three members of our very own congregation were interviewed by Dr. Sams. They shared stories of healing, reconciliation, and God's power to save from places like Haiti, Columbia, and the Congo. That probably would have been enough hope for one Sunday. But there was more. Jocelyn White from International Justice Mission brought us stories of the gospel in action all over the globe. If you want to hear about the power of prayer, God's power to save, and how people can take tangible parts in solving God-sized problems, you need to see this.

    All In Nov 15, 2015

Brokenness can consume us. Our physical eyes fill us with stories that can weigh us down so much we're unable to move. Now it's not that bad all the time, but if we see what we think we see, the world is very sad, and very broken. But it is not forever. There exists another reality, a forever reality, one we cannot see with our physical eyes, filled with an eternal celebration meant for us, and though we cannot see it, it goes with us everywhere. We do not sojourn through this broken world alone, even if we are physically alone. We are citizens of heaven. That truth affects everything. How? Would you listen, and hear God's truth through Dr. Sams about what we are to do with this alternate reality we can belong to forever.

    Impact Nov 08, 2015
    Show notes

Once again, Dr. Sams examines one of our core values, impact, and contrasts the true essence of it with what our culture would have us believe impact is. Our culture gives credit only to those who break through, those who achieve "success" by leveraging the efforts of many others. But in reality, we all cause impact. We affect each other - for the better and for the worse. The question is one of responsibility: how do we wield this tool of impact? Do we use it for eternal or non-eternal purposes? You are God's indispensable workmanship, and therefore designed for eternal impact. Would you listen, and learn how you can embrace that? It is the gospel, put to work.

    Community Nov 01, 2015

We have co-opted the word "community" to mean something less than it should be. Our culture tells us that community primarily consists of those like us: fellow workers, or artists, or hobbyists... even believers... and other classes we shouldn't use to divide up communities like race, or socio-economic status. None of this has anything to do with what Scripture teaches us about community. So what is community? Dr. Sams opens the Scriptures to dig in to the challenge o. Have a listen to be reminded of the sense of community our culture has missed.

    Health Oct 25, 2015

What does it mean to be healthy? We assume Scripture can only speak to our spiritual health, and that this is of paramount importance. But scripture isn't limited to spiritual health. In fact, many stories in the bible inform how we are to live, or more accurately, to thrive. Christ wants us to have life and life to the full. How does that work itself out? Dr. Sams explores exactly that question. Would you listen, and join our journey to become healthy, in every way we can be.
