Beatdown Big Board: Interior Defensive Line Apr 06, 2021

Show notes

What's up everyone? We hope you had a tremendous Easter weekend and are ready for a supreme run of sports including the National Championship (from last night, of course), The Masters, and maybe your favorite event of this stretch, the NFL Draft. That's what we're here to talk about today, as the Beatdown Big Board series rolls on. So far we've covered, EDGE, Tight End, Offensive Line, and Safeties, and today will bring you a look at the big uglies on the Defensive Line. This is an incredibly intriguing position this year that the Ravens may love, or completely opt out on, though we have an in depth preview here for you in the event that they do the former. We really hope you guys enjoy it, and that you'll go and vote on our poll that corresponds with today's episode (you can do so on our Twitter @PodcastBeatdown). We'll talk to you guys again later in the week, and until then, Arrivederci.

Friday Rollin' Apr 02, 2021

Show notes

What's up everyone? We hope y'all had a great week and are ready to close it out in style with a fresh pod from the guys. Coming to you remote this week due to some scheduling constraints, the fellas opened the mailbag this week to take some listener questions, and (as always) had a great time answering them and interacting with everyone. Some of the topics touched on include draft related stuff, seafood vs. BBQ, great TV to fall asleep to, great tailgate foods, and of course, plenty of hard hitting football talk to tide you die-hards over. We hope you all very much enjoy it, and have yourselves a great weekend. We'll be back on Tuesday with another Beatdown Big Board episode touching on defensive line prospects. Until then, arrivederci!

Beatdown Big Board: Safeties & Slot Types Mar 30, 2021

Show notes

What's up guys? The boys are back in studio on this beautiful Tuesday with some more NFL Draft content for you guys to (hopefully) enjoy. It comes in the form of our weekly Beatdown Big Board series, which chronicles the upcoming draft position group by position group via our two perspectives, and takes a look at all the players who we (and you, the listener) think would be a good fit for the Ravens. With EDGE, Tight End, and Offensive Line all off the board so far, the guys this week turn their attention again to the defensive side of the ball, this time taking a look at safeties and slot types. We hope you enjoy and learn a lot from our breakdowns, and also hope you'll use that info (along with your own opinions) to head to our Twitter page @PodcastBeatdown, to vote for your favorite prospect in this position group for Baltimore, based on both fit and value. The top two in each poll will ultimately be seeded into a final bracket that we'll be putting together and voting on ahead of the next month's draft. As always, we hope you guys enjoy, and we'll talk to you again next week!

Zen & the Art of Free Agency Mar 26, 2021

Show notes

What's up everyone? It's Friday, and we hope that's enough to have you in a good mood as we cruise towards the weekend. If not, we hope our podcast will do the trick for you all. Unfortunately though, it's yet another week of inactivity for the Ravens as far as making additions go, specifically of the pass catching variety. Since we've last recorder, JuJu Smith-Schuster and T.Y. Hilton have turned down offers from Baltimore to remain with their respective teams, and Sammy Watkins has turned into the de facto final legitimate target for Baltimore to bring into the building. We have plenty of that, and a ton else on free agency and all that's transpired that we hope brings you guys some more patience and clarity. We also took Twitter questions, including some great ones such as NFL all name-team, most chill Ravens of all time, plenty of FA and draft stuff, and much more. We hope you guys enjoy today's pod, and stay tuned for Tuesday's Beatdown Big Board episode where we'll be breaking down the safety position of this class. Talk to you then.

Beatdown Big Board: Offensive Line Mar 23, 2021

Show notes

What's up guys? Happy Tuesday, and happy podcast! The guys are back on the airwaves today to keep the Beatdown Big Board rolling, today taking a look at the big boys in the trenches, along the offensive line. With Spenny leading the discussion this week, the fellas dive into prospects from schools big and small, and break down which guys they feel might be a good fit in Baltimore who have already made a big move to revamp their line in the Kevin Zeitler signing. At the end of the show, the guys put together a list of four names to shoot out to a poll for you all to vote on, concerning just who exactly that perfect fit it is. Stay tuned for that, and some great analysis as we keep forging on into the offseason and towards the draft. Talk to you all again later in the week!

Free Agency... Rant session Mar 19, 2021

Show notes

What's up guys? We hope that everyone is having a great end to their week as March Madness descends upon us in glorious fashion. Jake and Spencer certainly are not having one, as free agency has also made it's way into the picture, and the Ravens haven't quite met their expectations or desires for what they've wanted to see them do (at least not entirely). After some banter regarding the tournament (and Impractical Jokers, for some strange reason), the guys get into a full, hour long discussion (and at times rant) about where they think the Ravens are falling short philosophically. Regardless of where you come down on how things have gone for Baltimore so far, you'll be sure to agree and disagree with some of what is said, as a lot is covered, but in this particular case, the guys are wearing their emotions on their sleeves and hope you appreciate that at the very least. Either way, it proved to be a nice therapy session for both of them, and we hope you guys see it that way, even if you don't entirely enjoy what you hear. Either way, we hope it serves as a fun discussion point as you head into your weekend, and we'll talk to you again on Tuesday with our O-Line big board episode.

Free Agency Roundtable Mar 16, 2021

Show notes

What's up guys? Hope you all are having a great week and ready to listen to the boys hop into the studio for a quick discussion on the first wave of free agency for the Ravens following the period being opened for two days now. They'll dish on the Ravens making something of a move in the signing of Kevin Zeitler, discuss Tyus Bowser coming back on a nice deal, Derek Wolfe re-signing prior to the show getting going, and what else they'd like to see from Eric DeCosta and co. moving forward. We hope you all enjoy this quick roundtable pod, and we'll talk to you again very, very soon.

Beatdown Big Board: Tight End Mar 16, 2021

Show notes

What's up guys? Happy Tuesday, and happy St. Patrick's day (tomorrow, anyway). In celebration of that, we have a tremendous pod for you all to dig in on, the second episode in our "Beatdown Big Boards" series, with today's focus being the tight ends in the 2021 NFL Draft. We get into the top guy on the board who everyone already knows about, plus some of the vertical threats and utility options that will more realistically be there for the Ravens to target. We'll of course be deciding on who the top four options for Baltimore are, and shooting them out to you guys via Twitter (@PodcastBeatdown) and IG (baltimore_beatdown). We hope you all enjoy, and we'll talk to you again soon.
