Show notes

What's up guys? We hope you all had a great weekend and are ready for a great show on this Tuesday of the week of The Big Game(TM). On today's podcast, Jake and Spencer get into all the goings on of what was a relatively busy should-have-been-the-pro-bowl weekend, a spot on the calendar that's usually pretty bare. First up is the Ravens related piece of news that came down on Saturday when Orlando Brown Jr. tweeted out that he's a LEFT tackle, and potentially confirmed his desire to play the position on an Instagram live appearance with Matt Judon - the guys break down that whole situation, and what it might mean in regards to his future with the Ravens. They also break down the blockbuster trade involving Jared Goff and Matthew Stafford as the Rams go all in on the former Lions star quarterback as the key to finally getting over the hump and winning the Super Bowl. Finally, joining the show for the first time ever is former Ravens employee (and current excellent Twitter personality) Sarah Ellison (@sgellison). Sarah worked for the Ravens for over a decade in their PR and media arms and has plenty of great stories from her time doing so. She also has plenty of takes on the team since the time she left which has coincided with the Lamar Jackson era, including what she thinks Eric DeCosta's approach to this offseason should be. For all that (and plenty more in a well over an hour chat) be sure to check that out. We hope you guys have a great week, and we'll talk to you again very soon.

To structure the show though, we're returning to the mailbag, where we got plenty of questions from you guys both on Twitter and Instagram, that range from Eric DeCosta once again proving himself to be a content king, some talk on The Wire which is always a thrill, what our plans are for the offseason, and much, much more. Thanks for tuning in, and we'll talk to you guys again very soon!

Pete Gilbert Jan 25, 2021

Show notes

What's up everyone? We hope you had a great weekend and are ready to start this week off right with a banger of a Monday podcast. Today, Jake sits with down a local legend in Baltimore sports media, and that's WBAL's Pete Gilbert (@WBALPete). He joins the show to chop up a ton of things in a wide ranging, hour long interview that covers his time as a sportscaster going all the way back to his beginnings, the journey that his career has taken him on, his relationship with the Ravens and how it's developed, plus a ton on the 2020 Ravens and what this crazy year was like for him. That includes both his perspective on things as somebody who has access to the locker room and the coaching staff, as well as how he saw things playing out, and what he expects moving forward as the Lamar Jackson era continues to take shape. 2021 Offsite Podcast Jan 22, 2021

Show notes

What's up everyone? The podcast is back, still in the wake of the end of the 2020 Baltimore Ravens season after a tough loss this past Saturday to the Buffalo Bills. There's plenty to talk about looking back on this past year, and a lot to look forward to as far as this offseason goes. Around this time each year, plenty of miserable office workers get a slight reprieve in what's referred to as an "offsite" where they meet, assess the year prior, and put together their goals and mission for the coming year. Here at Baltimore Beatdown, a couple of currently miserable football bloggers have decided to do the same, in regards to their favorite team. We give you the Baltimore Beatdown 2021 offsite, where we gather around to look at where the ravens went right and wrong in '20, what the '21 offseason could look like, and much more. Today's roundtable is a mashup of the flagship pod, and the "Host, Chief, & Deputy" boys, Kyle Barber (@BB_KylePBarber) and Vasilis Lericos (@VasilisBeatdown). We hope you guys enjoy, and we'll talk to you again very soon!

That's all, folks. Jan 17, 2021

Show notes

What's up everyone? Oh wait, I know what's up. The Ravens lost a tough one to the Buffalo Bills in the second round of the playoffs and will be heading home after a great defensive performance didn't receive any support from the other side of the ball. Jake and Spencer are here to drown your sorrows, discuss the game, talk offseason, and much more. We really appreciate you guys hanging with us this season, and hope that the show has provided a fun distraction in what's been a weird calendar year up to this point. Bring on the offseason! (Sighs deeply).
