#60 Robot Jox (1989) Jun 24, 2022

Show notes

In a future where war has been outlawed, nations now settle disputes via one on one combat with soldiers piloting giant robots. This is low budget, but there's something oddly satisfying about the movie and how it goes about navigating its ridiculous premise.

#59 Equilibrium (2002) Jun 17, 2022

Show notes

Director and Writer, Kurt Wimmer, created the nerdiest martial art ever in his garage and then decided to make a movie about it starring Christian Bale. There's a lot to like about it, and a lot that makes absolutely no sense. The critics hated it, and in this episode, the guys try to figure out if they are right.

#58 The Wraith (1986) Jun 10, 2022

Show notes

Remember that time Charlie Sheen terrorized a road gang as a ghost car bent on revenge? This is an insane movie from 1986 that Charlie Sheen made on a pit stop on his way to go shoot Platoon. Oliver Stone thought it was going to ruin the film's release. It ended up being a cult classic, but is it any good?

#56 Major Payne (1995) May 27, 2022

Show notes

Daman Wayans first big star vehicle. The critics hated it and deemed it "bad" but this movie seems to be beloved by the people. Why, is a completely different question - because I'm not so sure it's aged all that well. Comedy in the 90s was about loosely built plots constructed around big (sometimes annoying) characters. Then let the laughs commence. The four of us were pretty split, but I wonder what you think?

#55 Prayer of the Rollerboys (1990) May 20, 2022

Show notes

Corey Haim and Patricia Arquette's stand-in are the only two who can stop a rollerblading gang of drug-dealing white supremacists from taking over L.A. How did this movie not sweep awards season that year? A surprisingly dark and serious movie for one that heavily features Rollerblading.
