Bad Movies Rule!

Latest Episodes:

#84 Small Soldiers (1998) Dec 09, 2022

Show notes

For all the kids that ever watched a commercial and wished the toys could actually do those things in real life, this is your movie. What if your action figures were homicidal maniacs voiced by Tommy Lee Jones and the Dirty Dozen? James, Curt and Bob spend this episode revisiting this late 90s classic, Small Soldiers, directed by Mr. Gremlins himself, Joe Dante.

#83 Iron Eagle 3 (1992) Dec 02, 2022

Show notes

Slap the jukebox, there is another unauthorized mission to fly! Nobody runs unsanctioned Air Force missions like Chappy Sinclair. I don't know if Lou Gossett Jr. needed a new beach house or what, but we're happy he did because we get to walk through Iron Eagle 3 scene by scene with you.

#82 McHale's Navy (1997) Nov 25, 2022

Show notes

Tom Arnold "stars" in this "movie" based on the old television show that had no color but at least it had soul, and presumably some laughs! Some people love this movie and some people aren't really sure how or why this one was made. Wherever you fall on this one, join us as we walk through the 1997 "comedy" scene by scene and then give it some awards (likely the first it's ever received).

#81 Dude Where's My Car (2000) Nov 18, 2022

Show notes

We go back and revisit a movie that we liked when we were 20, but is it still funny in our 40s? We brought along a teenager just in case we were too out of touch. This is a stoner comedy featuring two lovable losers, played by Ashton Kutcher and Seann William Scott. Surprised to see some other recognizable faces there as well like Jennifer Garner and Donkey Lips!

Mini-sode #3: Kevin Conroy Tribute Nov 14, 2022

Show notes

This was a tough one this weekend. Losing Kevin Conroy feels like a piece of our childhood is gone forever. Curt and James spend timing reminiscing about their love of Kevin Conroy and afternoon animation of the 1990s. RIP Kevin.

Show notes

#79 Road House (1989) Nov 04, 2022

Show notes

This is the ultimate Bob movie of all time, and Bob is here to defend it's honor. Some of us grew up with it, some of us had never seen it before preparing for this episode. The BMR crew of Mel, James and Bob try to figure out why this movie is so beloved by some and decide ultimately if it's actually bad, good or a bad movie that rules!

Patrick Swayze, Kelly Lynch and Sam Elliot star in this 1989 movie about a famous bouncer coming to clean up the Double Deuce in Jasper, MI.

#78 Ernest Scared Stupid (1991) Oct 28, 2022

Show notes

Is Ernest Scared Stupid the best of the bunch from all of the Ernest movies? Is this an underrated gem that needs to be revisited and championed? Or does it suck and we've been kidding ourselves for 30 years. Today we answer that question as we go back, scene by scene, through Ernest Scared Stupid.

#77 Jason X (2001) Oct 21, 2022

Show notes

Jason X aka Jason Goes to Space was unlike any Friday the 13th movie that came before. The guys sit down and run through the whole movie, the good and the bad - from futuristic med students out of a Britney Spears video to Super Shredder - we mean, Super Jason. Enough our roast and review of this one.
