    Sandra Herrera and Lisa Roman welcome The Athletic's women soccer writer Steph Yang (@Thrace on Twitter) to the podcast to preview the AFC Asian Women's Cup in 2022. The tournament starts on January 20 and the final will take place on Sunday, February 6, matches can be viewed on Paramount +. Group A is India, the host country, China PR, Iran, Chinese Taipei. Group B is Australia, Indonesia, Thailand, Phillippines. Group C is Japan, Mynmar, South Korea and Vietnam. Sandra, Lisa and Steph run through each group to give their favorites, underdogs and some facts about the nations.

Michele Kang has made official moments to gain majority ownership of the club from Steve Baldwin. Sandra and Lisa give a recap of the entire Spirit front office and ownership story as it unfolded in August 2021. The current conversations have a deadline of February 1 - when the NWSL reports to preseason and the Spirit players will be reunited for the first time since winning the 2021 NWSL Championship.     USWNT 2022 January Camp Roster: Vlatko Andonovski Brings in Young Talent for Camp | The biggest names left off the list (Soccer 1/14) Jan 14, 2022

    The United States women’s national team head coach Vlatko Andonovski named his 26-person roster ahead of the legendary January Camp (2:38). Sandra Herrera and Lisa Roman discuss the original 25-player roster, the amendments made removing a player due to injury and then adding two more NWSL stars to a final number of 26 players (3:48). They discuss the biggest names that are absent from the list, such as Alex Morgan and Julie Ertz (15:47). Plus, they discuss the most notable call-ups, like new 2022 draftee’s Naomi Girma and Jealin Howell as well as NWSL Rookie of the Year Trinity Rodman (24:11). This roster drops ahead of the camp, set to run in Austin, TX from January 19-28. The camp will not feature any international matches, instead, the first matches for the USWNT in 2022 will come in the SheBelieves Cup in February.

    United States women's national team and Kansas City forward Lynn Williams joins Sandra Herrera to discuss her latest trade from North Carolina Courage to the Current. Williams discusses her conversation with the Courage to find another challenge with a different team in the NWSL. Williams is currently in Australia playing for The Melbourn Victory in the W-League, so she gives us a coastal tour of Australia while explaining her desire to play in Australia for the NWSL off-season.

    Sandra Herrera and Lisa Roman discuss the latest news, trades, updates, notes, etc from the NWSL, FA WSL and more. Kansas City Current has been busy this offseason acquiring big players to turn their 2021 last-place season around. Most recently, the Current acquire USWNT forward Lynn Williams in a trade with the North Carolina Courage and hire a new general manager and goalkeeper coach. The Courage also made moves of their own, signing Brazilian International forward Kerolin Nicoli Israel Ferraz. Gotham FC resigns NWSL 2021 Defender of the Year Caprice Dydasco, Kansas City sends forward Darian Jenkins to Orlando Pride and forward Yuki Nagasato heads home to Chicago Red Stars from Racing Louisville. On the other side of the world, FA WSL matchday 11 proved for some big upsets with Birmingham City destroying Arsenal's undefeated season 2-0 in Birmingham's first win of the 2021-2022 season. They discuss the trades, news and more!

    World Cup 2023 Qualifiers: CONCACAF W Championship Preview | Mexico, Costa Rica and Jamaica top nations (Soccer 1/10) Jan 10, 2022

    Sandra Herrera and Lisa Roman preview the CONCACAF W Championship, the qualifiers for the 2023 Women's World Cup. The group stages continue on February 16, with the top teams in the 6 groups being Mexico, Costa Rica and Jamaica. As the top two nations, the United States and Canada receive a first-round bye straight to the W Championship. The winner of the W Championship will automatically qualify for the 2023 Women's World Cup and the 2024 Paris Summer Olympic Games.
