Growing up in the South, I know that the dinner table is the bedrock of the community. However, between my diary allergy and vegan diet, I’ve personally seen how being excluded from it impacts relationships and unhealthy eating habits impacts our health. Plant based options have rapidly increased in popularity the last 5 years. However, there are still limited choices and in 2019 I started running popular community dinners that catered to those with and without dietary restrictions. These dinners were the launchpad for our company Dianna’s Plantbased Foods. Our flagship Creamy Cheddar Cheese Sauce is soy-free, naturally gluten free, nut-free, clean labeled, and delicious. Our cheese sauce is made with soul and can be used in Mac and Cheese, as a dip, a sandwich spread, and even for nachos.
Dietary Restrictions are becoming more complex and the food industry isn’t keeping up. It's not easy engineering clean label recipes that cater to 99% of diets and taste amazing, but as a Georgia Tech engineer, I'm up for the challenge. We don’t sacrifice on this mission or ingredients to make our product easier to manufacture. We create a safe space in the community by making the dinner table more inclusive and healthier. About: The story of how Lola’s Fine Hot Sauce became a reality is one that comes straight from the heart of my family. A story born in West Des Moines, IA; my inspiration on how to bring Lola’s Fine Hot Sauce to life started back in August 2015. My mother entrusted me with her secret hot sauce recipe that she had been making for her close friends and family. It just so happened she had a few of these jars already made. I cracked opened my first jar of her sauce and it was amazing! Something so simple, delicious and truly unique.
I started sharing it with friends and then one day I brought it in for a food day during my full time job. Right then and there was that moment, everybody who tried it said it was amazing and wanted to buy it. After that day the rest was history I decided to start Lola’s Fine Hot Sauce to deliver a quality hot sauce that’s truly unique and inspiring; essentially a hot sauce for everyone. I went to what was left of every Farmer’s Markets in the Des Moines area.

Codependency can run deep within us and take control of our relationships until the patterns become so entrenched that we feel helpless and unable to overcome them no matter how hard we try. It can be exhausting and leave you feeling impaired, but the good news is, you can be repaired and find freedom from codependency.

True SURVIVOR Story: Benton Cockerell Aug 13, 2021

Benton Ford Cockerell was born in Irving, Texas on July 9th 1992. Battling cancer when he was a toddler, he had an unusual introduction to the spot light. His bubbly personality in the midst of adversity, drew many people towards him. This led to him acting, singing, and playing the piano at age 7. From there, Ben went on to star in many community theatre and school productions. In college, he continued to do both musical theatre and professional theatre spending 2 years in the cast of "The Promise in Glen Rose."
For the past 3 years, he has studied with character actor Glenn Morshower in The Extra Mile Workshop. He also is an award winning director winning "Best Romantic Comedy" in the Indie Short Fest, for the Los Angeles International Film Fest, in which he played the lead. Benton is also in his 5th year as an Elementary Music Teacher.

The songs of "Forgotten Folklore" are a window into the overlooked stories of Americana.
Vocalist Joshua Banbury and multi-instrumentalist Kevin Sherwin create a musical journey through a curated selection of texts and tunes, in striking new arrangements. The songs offer hope, contemplate nature, reminisce on love, and much more.
Banbury and Sherwin also contribute wholly original songs, evoking the story-like essence of American folklore.

The soundscape of "Forgotten Folklore" draws on the fragility and vitality of America's legacy of folk singers. Joshua and Kevin's passion for the early recordings of singers such as Jean Ritchie (1922-2015), Edna Ritchie (1918-1978), Vera Hall (1902-1964), and many others, served as a foundation. Their continued research also led to the prolific transcriptions and field recordings of folklorist Alan Lomax (1915-2002).
Banbury and Sherwin's partnership with the Yale Collection of Historical Sound Recordings led to the detailed study of recordings and texts by these luminaries, among many other American musicians from the early and mid-1900s. The final selection of 5 traditional folk texts offered stories from Texas, Appalachia, and beyond.
In re-interpreting these tunes, Banbury and Sherwin draw on their own musical imaginations, infusing traditional Carnatic music, American orchestral music, and elements of Jazz. This personal approach led them to realize new connections between folk traditions across the world. For Joshua, singing this music gave him a new appreciation for his own ancestors, who have inhabited Texas since the 1830s.
