Arsecast Special - Dani Ceballos Jul 29, 2019
    Show notes

Last week Arsenal signed Dani Ceballos on loan from Real Madrid, but what can we expect from him? I'm joined by Colin Millar, the editor of Football Espana, to talk about his career progression from Real Betis to Real Madrid, his difficulties at the Bernebeu, his potential as a player, what this loan move might mean for him and for Arsenal, his social media indiscretions, how this deal is being viewed in Spain and much more.

Colin also talks about his upcoming book: The Frying Pan of Spain:Sevilla v Real Betis: Spain's Hottest Football Rivalry (pre-order here).

    Episode 535 - Brooklyn Jul 25, 2019
    Show notes

I've arrived in New York City via LA, Charlotte and Washington DC, and recorded a podcast in Brooklyn with Kurtis Powers from Arsenal NYC on a day when we signed two players. Dani Caballos and William Saliba are Gooners – even if they might never play together – so we chat about the signings, the US tour, the players who have impressed and the work we still have to do in the transfer market. There's also some microphone chat, music chat, and a bit of Marvin. Enjoy.

The Arsenal Women Arsecast Episode 6 - The Emirates Cup Jul 23, 2019
    Show notes

This month's episode of the Arsenal Women Arsecast is an Emirates Cup special, with the Arsenal Women taking on Bayern Munich Frauen at Emirates Stadium this Sunday. Arsenal have signed a total of six players from Bayern over the last 3 summers now, to get a perspective on how Bayern became Arsenal's feeder club, as well as a new era for the Bavarian side who have just changed their manager for the first time in a decade, Tim talks to Bayern fan Sven Beyrich.

Goalkeeper Manuela Zinsberger joined Arsenal from Bayern this summer and will make her debut against her former club at the Emirates on Sunday, Tim talks to her about a new challenge at Arsenal, how she describes herself as a goalkeeper and what attracted her to Arsenal. We wrap the episode up with Pippa chatting to Irish international Katie McCabe about pre-season, her aspirations for the season and the big game against Bayern at the Emirates. All of these interviews are exclusive to this episode of the Arsenal Women Arsecast.

    Show notes

This week, Andrew is in Washington DC and up very early to record with James who is just back from a rave in a forest. We chat about the game against Fiorentina in Charlotte, the goals from Eddie Nketiah and his potential place in the squad next season, and some of the other behind the scenes bits and pieces from the US tour. We also discuss transfers, selling players, Krystian Bielik, whether signing Wilfried Zaha would 'kill' Reiss Nelson, and lots more besides.

    Episode 534 - LA Live Jul 19, 2019
    Show notes

Because I'm travelling this week and I had no way of speaking to guests about stuff, this week's podcast is based around our 2-1 win over Bayern Munich in Los Angeles. I took my mic and Zoom into the press box, and recorded myself after key moments, making very astute and interesting observations about stuff, and with some end of game player ratings too. This is posted just after I've got to Charlotte, North Carolina this evening, so please excuse any mistakes because I am banjaxed with tiredness.

    Arsecast Extra Episode 297 - 15.07.2019 Jul 15, 2019
    Show notes

This week Andrew is in LA and James is in London so it's a goodly morning/goodly evening situation going on. We chat about the #wecaredoyou campaign which has ignited the fanbase and the media regarding the owner Stan Kroenke. Will it have any effect? What can we realistically hope for, and what kind of impact might it have? We also discuss Laurent Koscielny, our transfer business (or lack of), Raul, Unai Emery, Edu and lots more including listener questions as usual.

    Episode 533 - Edu. Kos don't. Jul 12, 2019
    Show notes

On this week's show I chat about the Laurent Koscielny bombshell with the BBC's David Ornstein. What has happened to get the situation to this point? Is there any way back for the soon to be former captain? And where does this leave the centre of our defence ahead of next season? We also discuss transfers, and all the things Arsenal need to do but unfortunately don't appear to be close to doing at this moment in time. Then it's Edu, and our new Technical Director is the topic of discussion with Tim Stillman – going from his playing days with us, to his administrative roles with Corinthians and Brazil. What kind of an impact can he have on the future of this mental football club?

    Arsecast Extra Episode 296 - 08.07.2019 Jul 08, 2019
    Show notes

On this week's show we discuss the hive of transfer activity that is Arsenal this summer, having bought Gabriel Martinelli, sold David Ospina and ... well ... er ... that's about it so far. We chat about the deals we haven't done, the deals we need to do, Edu's arrival and his potential impact, and wonder what Unai Emery – who is under some pressure to get us back into the top four next season – thinks about this inactivity so far. Then there are listener questions about Joe Willock's promotion to the first team, our 'very good plan', a passionless owner and much more, as well as announcing the winner of the Arsenal shirt competition from last week, and some final Magpie Facts.

    Episode 532 - Freddie Jul 05, 2019

On this week's show I'm joined by Layth Yousif of Football London to chat about Freddie Ljungberg and his promotion to the first team coaching staff next season. We also chat about some of the young players who might get a chance and some general transfer waffle, before we take some calls from our Patreon subscribers, discussing the roles of Aubameyang and Lacazette, the club's direction, and lots more, including details of a live podcast in LA later this month when Arsenal hit the USA.

    Arsecast Extra Episode 295 - 01.07.2019 Jul 01, 2019
    Show notes

On this week's show the mood of optimism and hope brought about by a video for a football shirt evaporated when we got a look at Arsenal's financial performance. Failure to qualify for the Champions League again is going to make life difficult, so we chat about the money, the on pitch performance, Ivan Gazidis presiding over such dismal business, and ultimately Stan Kroenke who allows it all to happen. Then we chat about the no transfers and wonder whether lots of transfers are coming or not. Are they like buses? You wait ages and then three arrive at once. Then we have listener questions about the kit, potential loan signings, midfield recruitment and lots more – before the important stuff, Magpie Facts! Behold his mighty beak and his heavy metal guitar.
