Arsenal Women Arsecast Episode 178: Birmingham draw gives Arsenal the Blues (again) Oct 19, 2026
    Show notes

In this episode of the Arsenal Women Arsecast, Tim and Jamie dissect the disappointing 1-1 draw at home to Birmingham. There is talk over the manager’s future, the issues defending fast breaks on the left side of the team, continued struggles to create clear chances and Renee Slegers’ animated post-match press conference. Tim and Jamie consider Renee’s argument that Arsenal are doing good things between the penalty boxes but haven’t been good enough in both penalty areas. There is also talk on the starting line-up and the continued reluctance to trust Gery Reuteler. In part two, Tim and Jamie take listener questions from BlueSky.

    Arsecast Extra Episode 717 - 18.10.2026 Oct 18, 2026
    Show notes

In this episode we look back at the 1-0 win over Nottingham Forest on Sunday afternoon. Not a lot happened in the first half, and Mikel Arteta made a change at the break bringing on Noni Madueke for Eberechi Eze. We discuss how much of today's performance was about what Arsenal were missing in terms of attacking quality and how much the home side made life difficult for us. We assess Madueke's match-winning contribution, then relive the final three minutes when Forest had three very good chances to score and try to understand how that happened, before we try and make an assessment of the team so far this season. In part two we have questions about Eberechi Eze, the impressive start Ezri Konsa has made to his Arsenal career, Declan Rice and Bruno Guimaraes, Max Dowman's scant minutes so far this season, and lots more.

Episode 897: On and off the pitch Oct 15, 2026
    Show notes

In this episode I'm joined by Andrew Allen to discuss the 3-0 win over Lille in the Champions League. We chat about the manager's team selection, and his comments about Noni Madueke and volume, before we discuss a decent – if not great – first half, and the way Arsenal changed things in the second period. There's some focus on Jurrien Timber after his excellent goal, as well as Eberechi Eze hopefully kick-starting his season, and increasing the technical level with the introduction of Bukayo Saka, Kai Havertz and Martin Odegaard. We also speak about the Mr Ken Friar after he passed away this week, paying tribute to his legacy and incredible tenure at the club, as well as reported job cuts, and more.

    Arsecast Extra Episode 716 - 11.10.2026 Oct 11, 2026
    Show notes

In this episode we look back at Saturday's 2-1 win over Leeds. We begin with some surprising selection decisions from Mikel Arteta, and a first half which saw the opposition pose more goal threat than Arsenal. Then, after falling behind in the second period, we got ourselves going with Riccardo Calafiori's equaliser before Bruno Guimaraes came off the bench to score the winner. There's discussion of how the game changed, the impact of the subs, how to frame the performance and the result, and some chat about players who didn't get off the bench. In part two we answer listener questions about Bukayo Saka and his performance, how left footed we were from the start of this game, being more creative in open play, the Arsenal crest/badge, and lots more.

    Episode 896: Mikel's big extension Oct 08, 2026
    Show notes

In this episode I'm joined by Kaya Kaynak to discuss the big story of the week – Mikel Arteta's contract extension. We reflect on his time at the club, where we were, where we are now, how we got here, and the context of the work he's done since his arrival in 2019. We also chat about what the future holds with a manager who is ambitious and not just signing a new deal to let anyone, least of all himself, rest on their laurels. There's some focus on player contracts too, with Declan Rice, Martin Odegaard, David Raya and Kai Havertz situations ready for action, as well as how some of the Arsenal players fared during the Interlull – in particular Viktor Gyokeres scoring four in a row for Sweden, and whether or not that puts him in the frame to start against Leeds on Saturday. All that, and much more.

    Show notes

In this episode of the Arsenal Women Arsecast, Tim and Jamie analyse Arsenal’s 4-2 defeat at Manchester City on Sunday, starting with events in Paris last week and Slegers’ pre-match rallying cry. There is discussion over goalkeeper rotation, a sense of stability in Arsenal’s starting line-ups now, the failure to hold the lead on two occasions in this game, another set of substitutions that seemed to confuse the team. Tim and Jamie then discuss Renee Slegers’ future and whether it is time for a change. In part two, Tim and Jamie take listener questions from BlueSky.

    Arsecast Extra Episode 715 - 04.10.2026 Oct 04, 2026
    Show notes

In this Interlull episode we begin with gunge, before talking about England scoring se7en against Croatia, with Bukayo Saka getting two of the goals. We also touch on the other Arsenal players on the scoresheet (Gyokeres and Merino for Sweden and Spain respectively), and the hamstring injury sustained by Christos Tzolis. There's also some inevitable Man City discussion as the ripples continue from the big story of the last 10 days, an Interlull conspiracy theory about a player we tried to sign, as well as listener questions about Martin Zubimendi, Declan Rice getting some rest, drinking in the stands, the proposed stadium expansion plans being shelved for now, and lots more.

    Episode 895 - Almost a billion ... Oct 01, 2026
    Show notes

In this episode I'm joined by Philippe Auclair to discuss the Premier League statement released this week in relation to Man City being found guilty of 114 of the 115 charges made against them. We discuss how strident the statement was, and how well presented the evidence is in the findings document, before we chat about coverage of this in the media, whether there might be political interference in any punishment the Premier League might dispense, and what the future holds for the club as long as the current owners are in place. We also touch on Pep Guardiola's statement, what level of sanction might be applied, how the Pandora's Box for legal action from other clubs and beyond has only just opened, the impact on fans, and lots more.

Arsenal Women Arsecast Episode 176: Bridge over troubled water Sep 29, 2026
    Show notes

In this episode of the Arsenal Women Arsecast, Tim and Jamie look back over Arsenal’s 1-0 defeat at Chelsea on Sunday and ask where it leaves the season, how much the issues in front of goal are tactical and how much they are psychological, and how much increased squad depth is leading to confusion and a lack of cohesion. There is analysis of the team selection, a promising opening 30 minutes, another sloppy goal conceded and substitutions that appeared to create confusion over clarity. In part two, Tim and Jamie field questions submitted on BlueSky.

    Arsecast Extra Episode 714 - 27.09.2026 Sep 27, 2026
    Show notes

This episode is dominated by the biggest story in football right now, Man City being found guilty on 114 of the 115 charges that have been leveled at them by the Premier League. We discuss that verdict, the length of time the case has been ongoing, before exploring the impact their financial doping has had on the game. It doesn't just impact other clubs, but fans too pay the price for the inflationary landscape. We also discuss the possible outcome and what we think would be suitable punishment for what they have done, and the way they have damaged the Premier League and football more broadly. There are some listener questions too, touching on Mikel Arteta's connection with Man City, how the league should respond, as well as some brief Kai Havertz/Viktor Gyokeres chat, and more.
