Succession: It's About Tom (with Sami Sage) Jun 02, 2023

Show notes

The lord giveth, and the lord taketh away. Following an *impeccable* series finale of Succession (aka Sarah's #1 show, apologies to Manzo'd with Children), Sarah sits down with another superfan to deep dive the multilayered WTF final ep: Sami Sage (cofounder and chief creative officer, Betches Media, and host of the Morning Announcements podcast. They discuss the groundswell of online critique against Shiv's vote (and why that same fervor hasn't applied to Kendall as well), why an outsider position helped Tom in all the ways it held him back before Logan's passing, and what the show's producing/directing heads have discussed about Shiv, Kendall, and Roman's lives after cameras went down (hint: it's not a happy ending).

Eternal Sunshine of Her Spotless Mind (Talking Pump Rules with Sami Sage) Jun 02, 2023

Show notes

Wow, Pump Rules, wow. After yet another episode of VPR Masterpiece Theatre, Sarah's cold is magically cured (not quite, but she internalized sniffles like Raquel did everything else). Inspired by Bravo's cinematic arts, Sarah invites a new guest to the People's People's Couch for an epic deep dive: Sami Sage (cofounder and chief creative officer, Betches Media, and host of the Morning Announcements pod). They settle into the cloff and discuss what Tom is getting so deeply wrong about standing as the victim of his own affair, Raquel's narrative centering the affair as a sign of emotional growth and independence, the devastating vulnerability Scheana shared as one of the many friends betrayed by Tom and Raquel, the problematic way James' behavior was used as a tool of distraction/shame by Sandoval, and Sandoval's work to manipulative the affair's origin story in front of the cameras. Call her Rachel or Raquel, just as long as Andy calls us with the part 3 reveal - it's Andy's Girls, Episode 417!

Tre Stumped (A RHONJ Reunion Deep Dive) May 31, 2023

Show notes

Not even a deadly cold will keep Sarah away from unpacking the NJ reunion kick-off. So after waking from a 48-hour light coma (which included a dream about, you guessed it, the Toms), Sarah moves closer in convo to Toms River, aka Tre vs. Melissa: Endgame. She discusses Luis' on-camera motivations as a distraction from a deeper dive, revisionist history Teresa is now proclaiming as fact, and why convo around the kids (including off camera), is deepening a cast divide. Namaste, go away, to Sarah's deepening sneeze - it's Andy's Girls, Episode 416! (Achoo!)

James and the Giant Worm (A VPR Reunion Deep Dive with Tracie Morrissey) May 27, 2023

Show notes

My cardsssssah! After watching part one of the already-historic Vanderpump Rules reunion, Sarah realizes the only way to process the 15 different dimensions of what was expressed is a (roughly)15-hour episode. With someone who is, truly, good as gold: Tracie Morrissey (writer, podcaster on "Pot Psychology" and owner of pipedreams.fun). They discuss Sandoval's strategic invalidation of his friendship with James and Scheana, a re-analysis of Katie and Schwartz' relationship and pre-Scandoval critiques, Ariana's shocking reveal about Sandoval's manipulative use of her mental health to offset critique, the Toms' consistent upset when women push back, and Raquel's motivations on and off camera. It's not the NJ convo was kept to the end per se, cloffice production said it needed to be 100 yards away - and it's Andy's Girls, Episode 415!

TW: this episode includes references to suicide, suicidal ideation, and self harm, while discussing the reunion and some of Tom's allegations.

Succession: The Fall of the Roman Empire (with Bravo Bravo Ducking Bravo) May 25, 2023

Show notes

"If it is to be said, so it be, so it is." As Greg so beautifully noted - probably while footstooling - today marks a Ramotional New Beginning in the history of AG's sassy social experiment: the premiere episode of "Taking it Personally!" TIP continues the kinds of conversations Sarah loves to have about Housewives: unpacking the psychology and community behind some of her favorite shows. And of course, she needed to deep dive her #1 GOAT: Succession. So she Zooms up one of her fave Bravoholic besties, content creator Bravo Bravo Ducking Bravo, to discuss Logan's use of affection toward his children as both family currency and business strategy, whether Roman's breakdown was inevitable regardless of Ewan's remarks, the ways a death of innocence (and an innocent's death) became the framework of every season finale (and the show itself), and Marcia's surprising moment of emotional support for Kerry. You can't make a Tomlette without breaking some Greggs, and Shiv is a master chef - it's Taking it Personally, the premiere ep!

Love & Marriage: Franklin Lakes (with Carlos King) May 23, 2023

Show notes

Sarah Googles her astrological chart, only to realize she's a Rising "Season 25: Oprah Winfrey Behind the Scenes." After sighing with relief - it just makes so much sense! - she heads into the cloffice to Zoom with someone who has a bit of experience on that show and, ya know, a few dozen others: mega producer and podcaster, Carlos King ("Reality with the King," "Belle Collective," "Love & Marriage" franchise, and of course RHOA and RHONJ). They deep dive the selective and strategic withholding of secrets on Potomac and RHONJ, whether Teresa's defensiveness about Luis is possibly connected to a trauma response from Juicy Joe/camp, whether Mama Joyce and Todd will ever get along, and what the RHOA cast is getting right - and wrong - about Martell. The dame and the king are finally together, so royal court is officially in order - it's Andy's Girls, Episode 414!

Mad Madix: Fury Road (A VPR Finale Deep Dive with Bravo Bravo Ducking Bravo) May 18, 2023

Show notes

Somehow, heartbreak feels good in a place like this. Just call it Tom Sandoval's non-apology tour. After watching the Pump Rules finale, Sarah calls up her Bravo BFF, content creator and truth sayer Bravo Bravo Ducking Bravo, and invites her to the People's People's Couch for a rewatch and deep dive. Yes, they began recording this episode at 2am, flying by the seat of their pants (spiritually, of course - Sarah was in a robe). They unpack Ariana's magnificent expression of rage as a rallying cry for countless women watching, Sandoval's attempt to weaponize Ariana's anger against herself, the breakdown of Sandoval and Schwartz's Toxic Adorability Complex, Raquel's Notebook-style romanticization of her affair with Sandoval (and why Ariana believes they haven't broken up, as earlier reported), and the difference in what the Toms vs their exes believe they deserve. Tom's style may have been inspired by Charmed, but his luck may be running out - it's Andy's Girls, Episode 413!

Soundoval (A Meditation) May 17, 2023

Show notes

Child's pose, downward dog, cat/cow, and poo poo heads. These are the positions of yoga, of meditation, of growth. And after Sarah shares her thoughts on the New Jersey finale, including Luis' John Mahdessian Energy, a shocking VPR finale clip that raises additional questions about the Scandoval timeline, and the questions Sarah would ask Ariana about Sandoval, she limbers up in the cloffice for a sound(s) bath that Jax's reiki instructor Kelsey said is so good she's calling it Jason instead. In order to watch the Scandoval finale, we must prepare our spirit first. Let this special Andy's Girls meditation guide your heart and mind. Don't forget to buy your tickets to Thursday's Andy's Girls Live: A Scandoval Spritz, but not until you finish imagining a world where Villa Blanca still exists - it's Andy's Girls, Episode 411!

Affair Chance (with Ryan Bailey) May 13, 2023

Show notes

Sarah goes to Sandoval's concert in NYC (#writergirl #theultimatesacrifice) and spends the next several days trying to recover from what was a memory burned into her psyche - until she watches the newest VPR, and is plunged deeper into the rage abyss. After taking a series of cold showers and putting up a vision board comprised of the Something About Her greek salad wrap (you know Queen Ariana is gonna have gluten free!), Sarah realizes the best way to recover is to deep dive with someone who has mentioned it all on all things Scandoval, friend of the pod Ryan Bailey ("So Bad It's Good with Ryan Bailey"). After trying to figure out how quickly Raquel's $700 gold necklace will turn green with envy, they discuss Sandoval's history of asserting power by raging out against women, Raquel's disturbing use of Ariana's history of body and relationship insecurities in order to extract information pertinent to her affair, Schwartz' active disinterest in defending and protecting his mother-in-law against his best friend's attacks, and what Season 11 might look like if the cast stays intact. There may be a difference between stan culture and connection, and this ep straddles both - it's Andy's Girls, Episode 410!

Life Twirls On (with Michael Arceneaux) May 09, 2023

Show notes

Ask, believe, receive! Reinvigorated by a sublime RHOA premiere, and shaken by the breaking news of Kim and Kroy's surprise split, Sarah runs to the cloffice to nosh on RHOA's extra juicy news on and off TV. And who better to break it all down than one of Sarah's fave return guests, a star in his own right, Michael Arceneaux (New York Times bestselling author, whose credits include "I Can't Date Jesus" and "I Don't Want to Die Poor."). They discuss the ways Kim and Kroy's split is reminiscent of a one-and-not-actually-done OC divorce, the difference in how Kandi and Todd currently view marital support, accommodations, and partnership, Shereé's active work against her own best interests in business and romance, a conspiracy theory circulating about Joe that allegedly comes up at the reunion, and the differences between Marg and Jen Aydin's arsenals (and armor). Life twirls on, and this convo will leave you spinning - it's Andy's Girls, Episode 409!
