After much thought and consideration, both Ceara and Allison have decided to step away from Already Friends. We poured our hearts into the show for 5 full years and are so proud of what we created. The AFP community has grown with us and given us so much grace and support over the years. We’re both grieving in closing this chapter, but we know there’s new projects on the horizon. Thank you for joining us in this journey. We’re forever grateful for all of you! We will keep the episodes on Apple and Spotify through for at least the rest of 2026 for you to continue enjoying. If you're missing us, there's 50+ bonus episodes on patreon.com/alreadyfriends

Body Image, Confidence and Self-Esteem w/ Erin Ren Dec 17, 2021
    Show notes

We live in a world dominated by social media, and we have access to look and follow people of all shapes, sizes, and looks 24/7. The “beauty standard” seems to always be moving further and further out of our reach, and we’re constantly being told “do this diet, buy this product” and then you’ll love yourself.

This also means we are constantly comparing: comparing ourselves to that Instagram model we follow, wanting what they have, hating what we have, the cycle goes on and on. At one point, Erin Ren decided enough was enough, and ever since then, she’s been inspiring women to say screw society’s standards, and to realize that we are perfect just the way we are.

In today’s conversation, Erin Ren talks about what it’s like being a professional hype woman to many, as a boudoir photographer that shoots her clients in their most vulnerable state. She also gives advice on how to be confident, how to help others when they’re not feeling confident, what it’s like being a first-time mom, and more.

Bridal Fashion 101 w/ Hope LaVine: Finding the Perfect Dress, Tips for Planning Your Perfect Wedding, and more! Dec 10, 2021
    Show notes

If you’re on TikTok or Instagram, you’ve seen the bridal content: brides or stylists trying on the most gorgeous dresses, people giving tips for what they would have done at their wedding, and more. One of the influencers leading this type of content is Hope LaVine, and we’ve been wanting to have her on since the beginning of the podcast!

Hope LaVine is an independent bridal stylist and blogger, she carries 7 years of experience in bridal styling and is basically an expert on all things fashion in the bridal world. Her favorite part of styling is connecting with brides and making them feel their best version of themselves. She is also a content creator and is your “Bridal Bestie”, posting TikToks that have grown her to 187,000 followers and a large IG following as well!

Unfortunately, there was an emergency at Allison’s recording studio (all good, everyone is okay) so Ceara flies solo for this interview. Hope and Ceara talk about what it’s like being a bridal stylist, Hope’s time working as a stylist on “Say Yes to the Dress: Atlanta”, how the pandemic changed her world, life as a content creator, and more!

A Major Self-Help Chat: Reading Quotes From Our Favorite Books Dec 03, 2021
    Show notes

A lot has been happening in our corner of the world this week, so we spend a good amount of time catching up. Ceara got to see her family out in South Carolina and have some quality sibling time. Allison was busy at the shop with Black Friday, is having *another* existential crisis, and is inviting some new perspectives in.

We got the idea for this episode from The Aubrey Marcus Podcast # 317 ‘Secrets of Taoism and The Rebel Monk’ where they discussed a piece of literature. We thought it would be fun to share some quotes from our favorite books that we’ve been reading lately. The conversation goes a few different directions as the quotes spark a variety of topics. This is a mini Self-Help-Bible episode as we really cover a lot of ground. There’s certainly something for everyone in this one.

Answering 36 Questions That Lead to Love Nov 19, 2021
    Show notes

Is anyone else exhausted from having the same light-hearted easy conversations all the time? It can be even more tiring to pretend “everything is fine” and keep it casual than to just actually discuss real, honest topics. This week we open up through a series of personal questions developed by psychologist Arthur Aron and colleagues (and famously featured by the New York Times) that are meant to accelerate intimacy.

Answering these questions was a great way to get to know ourselves and each other better. It would be a great “game” to play with loved ones, especially over this holiday season where small talk tends to dominate conversations.

We hope you enjoy getting to know us better! Through our answers, there might even be some intriguing takeaways and lessons learned that will help you in your own journey.

How To Give Intentional Gifts (Holiday Gift Guide) Nov 12, 2021
    Show notes

Rather than a basic gift guide list of trendy items to buy, we want to help you think about giving gifts in a different way this year so that it doesn’t seem like you’re just swapping $20 bills with everyone you know.

We divided this episode into a few segments. To start off, we do include some physical gifts that we recommend and why we think they’d make a great gift. Then we talk about giving experience-oriented gifts and what that can look like. Another idea is to give gifts that help someone reach their goals which is super thoughtful. One of the best talking points during this episode is the segment on love languages and how you could tie gifts into someone’s receiving love language. We wrap up with some advice on how to ask for what you actually want yourself!

Hopefully, this episode helps relieve some stress from your plate this holiday season while reminding you to be mindful about your budget, the planet, and the special humans in your life.
