Hal Jordon - Green Lantern Part 2 Sep 19, 2018

Show notes

Hello and welcome to All Geeks aside the podcast where I take a look at the In Universe histories of Characters or objects as we had last time, of all things geek, be it from comics, manga , Science Fiction, Fantasy and everything in between.

This is Part 2 of the Hal Jordon Green Lantern episode, if you like listening out of sequence then go right ahead. I do suggest that you go back and listen to the previous one first.

Remember that movie that was released a couple of years ago that had the fabulous Ryan Reynolds in that body hugging suit, no not the red one the green CGI one. Well that was a poor portrayal of the character that I have chosen this time. However in order for us to have a true understanding of this we must first look at 1. where they came from, and 2. what they were envisioned to do, 3. the true origins of their power. Not in that order. It is then and only then that we will truly be able to bring you the best version of this character.

Before I continue and reveal the character that I am doing this week I want to thank the fan listener that reached out and requested that he wanted to learn all about Green Lantern, to which I asked which one. It was then decided that I cover Hal Jordan Green. So prepare your Earholes as we dive deep into the History of not only Hal jordan but also of the basics of the Green Lanterns as a Whole.

So before I get to Hal I first want look at why there exists a Green lantern Corps in the First place. Who crested them and where does the power of the Green Lanterns come from. We will then look at how a green Lantern is chosen and how the powers are bestowed upon them. Plus if I have time I will look at the other kinds of Lanterns that are in the Universe.

Black Widow - Natasha Romanova Apr 03, 2018

Show notes

So without further a do lets get down to business.

With the release of the movie Red Sparrow and the upcoming release of Avengers Infinity War closing in on us. I have decided to do one of the most sought after women in the Marvel universe.

And while she is not originally a hero she has become one of the main stays in all things Avengers. With the relationship between the United States and Russia at an all time high, they even aided in the presidential election.

Yes I am doing the Russian super spy Natasha Romanova aka Black Widow.

We will learn how she became an Avenger, how she defected from the Russians, and how she planned to kill Captain America.

So how did a former Russian Super Spy become both a member of SHIELD as well as a prominent comrade to the Avengers?

To answer that we will first need to look at where Natalia came from and what occurred in the years of her life.

King or Khal, part 2 Mar 20, 2018

Show notes

Join me this week as we continue the tale odd as it is of Arthur Curry Aquaman. Thank you for joining me.

Aquaman (Jason Momoa) is the King of the Seven Seas. Leader of Atlantis, he is caught between the surface world constantly ravaging the seas and Atlanteans looking to lash out in revolt. Aquaman is committed to protecting the entire world

As for the whole of this account of the Atlanteans, some say that it is unadorned history, such as Crantor, the first commentator on Plato. Crantor also says that Plato's contemporaries used to criticize him jokingly for not being the inventor of his Republic but copying the institutions of the Egyptians. Plato took these critics seriously enough to assign to the Egyptians this story about the Athenians and Atlanteans, so as to make them say that the Athenians really once lived according to that system.

Our pride', you said? So that pride you're saying to be so precious, is that connected to killing Rukia? Is it? Then I should stomp on it as you said. 'Cause that's why I obtained this Bankai! - Ichigo Kurasaki

I'm not superman, so I can't say anything big like I'll protect everyone on earth. I'm not a modest guy who will say it's enough if I can protect as many people as my two hands can handle either. I want to protect a mountain-load of people. - Ichigo Kurasaki

Ron Swanson's Space Bro: Part 2 Jan 31, 2018

Show notes

This is Part 2 of a 2 part series, I have decided to split all futures shows up into a more manageable size. I will offer both as a Patreon perk so if you would like both you know what to do.

I bring to you Peter Quill aka Star Lord of the Guardians of the Galaxy. I thought this would be a short and easy character I was wrong. But I loved every minute of it. Enjoy the show

I almost made it work. The Guardians were more than I could ever have hoped for! But the universe is also more dangerous than I ever imagined! Look around! This is the kind of thing that can happen! The galaxy doesn't need guardians! It doesn't need brave souls! If it's going to survive another one of these, it's going to need absolute bad-asses! It's going to need the biggest guns of all! Cosmic heavy hitters as scary as the menaces they have to face! It's going to need flarking annihilators! Star-Lord
