    Show notes

Battleship week is coming to a close. We hope you’ve taken with you some key insights from highly-decorated, battle-tested military leaders. However, before we wrap, we have 2 great leaders sharing their keynotes with us about placing the mission first, never accepting defeat, never quitting, or leaving anyone behind and why it’s important to take care of ourselves to become better leaders.

Today we have Dr. Gary McGrath, CEO of Statarius & U.S. Army Veteran & Bob Pizzini, CEO of iFly Virginia Beach Indoor Skydiving and Retired EOD Officer, U.S. Navy.

Dr. Gary McGrath talked about how he was destined to be in the military, with a long line of family ties to all branches. He introduced Compassionate Accountability – which he defines as the ability to build relationships so we can achieve our goals together. He also tied the IGYB (I Got Your Back) mentality and why it’s important for your organization to adopt WGYB mindset. Listen to hear what ‘B’ stands for.

Next, Navy Veteran Bob Pizzini talked about the art and science of leadership covering the six key components of leadership. Some of them are obvious, others not so much. Bob also covers the one thing you can do everyone can do right as you wake up that will get your body ready to go. Hint: it doesn’t have anything to do with exercise, but exercise is an important part of Bob’s plan. He also explains why leaders should never make decisions when ‘HALT’ – find that what that means.

That’s just a sampling of the lessons Carey offered business-people at every level of the organization. There’s something in this keynote for every member of your team.

AB 212 Live! Leading During a Slow-Moving Train Wreck with George Brunt and Dr. Gleb Tsipursky

Busy people stay busy, even in the midst of a slow-moving train wreck.

While both guests on today’s All Business Live with Jeffrey Hayzlett come from different perspectives, they shared similar messages.

Up first is George Brunt, founder of Business Legal Management. Jeffrey and George talk about how all businesses need to work through the ‘captains of no’ -- whether it’s inside your company or an outside force like government boards. Now is the time to break free from the procedures and lead with capacity. If there is no action, there is no resolve.

Dr. Gleb Tsipursky the CEO of Disaster Avoidance Experts. Dr. Tsipursky is on a mission to protect leaders from making bad decisions due to their cognitive biases. He challenged Jeffrey right away by telling him not to trust your gut because it’s not well adapted for the modern world. They also talk about what personality type will thrive in this uncertain time and what your company needs to be doing right now to help keep your remote workers engaged.

AB 211 Live! The Best Listener Always Wins: Building Value in Sales with Mark Boundy and Jeff Pedowitz Apr 14, 2020
    Show notes

Now is not the time to sell, now is the time to listen to your customers.

That theme forms the foundation of both guests on this episode of All Business with Jeffrey Hayzlett.

Our first guest, Mark Boundy the CEO of Boundy Consulting and author of “Radical Value: Elevate Your Company – and Career – by Unleashing the Power Within Customer Centricity.” Jeffrey and Mark get real about how salespeople stink at understanding what a customer values, and those that do are on the sales varsity squad. This conversation is what every sales manager and on-the-street sales professional needs to hear.

For the second half of the episode, Jeff Pedowitz joins Jeffrey to talk about the importance of arming your sales team with the best information available that will help them get stuff done. Keeping with the theme of the show, they also talked about how you can’t rush the sales process and to be mindful of your customers purchasing plans.

AB 210 Live! Gotta turn those shoulds into musts with Brandon Steiner and Lincoln Scoffield Apr 13, 2020
    Show notes

Now is the time to turn your “should do” list into “must dos”.

Today’s first guest, Brandon Steiner, is a titan in the sports memorabilia world -- best known for buying the old Yankee Stadium and selling it piece-by-piece to collectors around the world. Brandon says now is the best time to reset your mindset, figure out what you might have missed, and find opportunities. He also says doing nothing during this pandemic isn’t an option for you or your business -- there’s always something you can do. Also, find out why Brandon says now is the best time to “turn the volume up on your faith, even though you can’t see it.”

For the second half of the show, Lincoln Scoffield, co-founder and partner in Vetted Partners joins Jeffrey to talk about ways to keep the cash flowing during these uncertain times. Lincoln says you should always go to a traditional lender (bank or credit union) first when looking for funding, but you do have options. Lincoln believes the havoc COVID-19 is having on our economy not as a traditional economic crisis; instead, it’s a health crisis with financial implications. Disclosure: The C-Suite Network and Vetted Partners have teamed up to create c-suiteloans.com, a loan resource for businesses.
