AB 229 Live! The 4 C's & Uninformed Optimism with Meerah Rajavel and Clint Padgett May 08, 2020
    Show notes

Whether you’re working from home or gearing up to get back in the office, today’s episode of “All Business with Jeffrey Hayzlett” is all about getting your team on the same page.

We start with Meerah Rajavel the Chief Information Officer of Citrix. While the world shifted to a remote workforce nearly overnight, her team started working out the logistics a long time before the pandemic, the time-table just accelerated. The situation forced her team to get creative, fast; and also, some unexpected challenges. Meerah shared her four C’s of remote working and Jeffrey added a fifth C to the list.

Clint Padgett started the second half of the show talking about two other Cs, conversation vs. communication. Clint is the CEO of Project Success Inc., a company that advises teams on effective project management. He says communications could be anything -- a text, zoom chat or e-mail, but conversation happens face-to-face allowing for follow-up questions, and creating clarity for everyone involved. They also talked about the worry curve and how you can avoid it on your next project.

AB 228 Live! The Wide World of (Net)work with Keith Ferrazzi and Paul Van Deventer

We’re getting America back to work this week and both of these guests are taking roads to get there.

Keith Ferrazzi began redefining work since college and later became one of the youngest CMOs in Fortune 500 history. Now as the Founder and Chairman of Ferrazzi Greenlight, he helps teams work better together. The COVID-19 pandemic is teaching businesses of all types, in real time, how to be adaptable. Keith says now is the time for your company to “find its north star” and point towards the future. There are eight areas you need consider as you reboot to the new world of work and Keith covers most of them during this conversation.

Trade shows, expos, and conferences are at the heart of most companies’ business. Sales and connections made during these events are the lifeblood to many industries. Paul Van Deventer knows this first-hand, he is the President and CEO of Meeting Planners International (MPI), a group supporting the event industry. With the pandemic canceling big events all over the world, will the events industry look different when we re-open? Paul, says yes, but your favorite trade show isn’t moving entirely online. Hear why Paul says the event industry is still relevant and how planners are finding ways to enhance, not replace, the in-person experience.

Those are the themes behind both of today’s guests on All Business with Jeffrey Hayzlett.

Today’s first guest is Evan Dash, CEO of StoreBound a company that sells small home appliances to stores nationwide and their slogan is “Happiness is Homemade.” Evan worked his way up through the retail ranks, eventually landing executive job at Macy’s before striking out on his own. Show notes

"Get Back to Work” week continues on All Business with Jeffrey Hayzlett with two guests focusing on different ways companies should focus on getting ready to get back to business.

First, we hop into the F.A.S.T. lane with innovation expert Stephen Shapiro. It used to be that innovation was all about creating products, now it’s all about solving problems. COVID-19 is showing businesses there are a lot of questions out there and creative answers are needed to solve problems. Both Stephen and Jeffrey use F.A.S.T. as an adaptable acronym to get things moving, but have different interpretations. You’ll have to listen to find out what they agree the “F” stands for.

Today’s second guest, Allison Arden, reminds us all in the possibility of testing, exploring, and seeing everything with fresh eyes. Allison is the Founder & CEO of Soul + Co, a company that helps people and companies gain greater self-awareness through insights experiences, art, and soul. Allison and Jeffrey have a wide-ranging conversation about mixing profits, values, and creativity in business. AB 225 Live! The New Rules of Engagement in Healthcare and Cybersecurity with Nelson Griswold and Matt Preschern May 04, 2020
    Show notes

We’re kicking off “Get America Back to Work” week with two heavyweights in their respective industries.

Healthcare is in the spotlight during the COVID-19 pandemic. We all know where to go if we need treatment, but few of us understand the complex healthcare ecosystem. Cost is a big concern for customers, employers, and hospitals and today’s first guest is trying to change that. Nelson Griswold is Managing Director, NextGen Benefits Network where he helps businesses get the coverage their employees deserve without breaking the budget. Hear why he thinks your business needs a healthcare “coach” and why he says despite all the talk, Washington isn’t interested in changing the system.

Another thing that’s evolving during the pandemic is cybersecurity. As the workforce moved home, a company’s data is more vulnerable than ever. In the second half of the show, Jeffrey is joined by Matt Preschern, CMO of ForcePoint, a world-wide cybersecurity firm. Matt and Jeffrey’s conversation goes beyond the idea of data privacy. They talk about economic safety, helping customers weather the storm, and how engagement and content are key elements in surviving the current business climate.

AB 224 Live! Timing is Everything with JJ Ramberg and Tim Gard May 01, 2020
    Show notes

In this episode of All Business, Jeffrey talks with two veterans of different industries, who happen to also be old friends, to talk about how timing is everything in business and comedy.

Long-time TV host, entrepreneur, and best-selling book author, JJ Ramberg, joins Jeffrey to talk about business. You may recognize JJ from her run as host of Your Business, the second longest running program in MSNBC history. Now that she’s away from the camera, JJ is focusing on her businesses, including her newest venture, GoodPods, an app that weaves together the popularity of podcasting and social media. JJ and Jeffrey talk about how GoodPods is hoping the solve the “what podcast should I listen to next?” problem, why podcasting is still a good medium to get and how entrepreneurship seems to run in her bloodline.

Next up on the show is NSA Hall of Fame Speaker, and funny man, Tim Gard. He is known for using storytelling and humor in his presentations to help audiences connect to his message. Tim and Jeffrey agree that good marketers always craft the story, why he’s funny, who his comedic idols are, and what type of humor he stays away from. If you need a good laugh to deal with the pandemic, this interview is a must listen.

AB 223 Live! The Wild, Wild West of Healthcare & Cybersecurity Apr 30, 2020
    Show notes

On today’s All Business Live! with Jeffrey Hayzlett, we tackle two issues in the headlines: healthcare and cybersecurity, both untamed frontiers in different ways.

Our first guest, Deb Ault, founder and president of AIMM (Ault International Medical Management) gives listeners a dose of reality on our current healthcare system. She says COVID-19 has turned healthcare into the wild, wild west creating pandemonium among business owners. She says that while not all of us will get sick, the expense of those who do could upend the entire system for employers and employees. So, what can be done? Become a more informed consumer. Business owners need to get smarter, too, by taking more control of their health insurance. Deb says with employers’ help, the healthcare system as we know it could be changed forever.

Our next guest is trying to wrangle a different corner of the modern wild west, the internet. John Sileo, CEO & President of The Sileo Group, had his identity stolen – twice! Once was personal. Once was business related. Both were severe in their own ways and the criminals were barely punished. These experiences pushed John into cybersecurity because, as he tells Jeffrey, nobody is taking cybersecurity seriously enough. He also offered some easy ways for people to protect themselves and their business from cyber threats.

    Show notes

This episode of All Business Live is all about building up your bottom line, but in different ways.

If you’ve ever wanted to break through to top c-suite leaders, you’ll want to listen to Jeffrey’s conversation with Nathan Kievman the CEO of The Linked Strategies Group. Nathan talks about why relationships are key, in business and in life and why messaging has to be a big part of the conversation. Even during the COVID-19 pandemic, you can’t afford not to be authentic. Nathan also offers tips on whether your pitch letters should be short & sweet or long & detailed. His answer might surprise you.

On the second part of the show, the conversation turns to growing your portfolio and your IRA. Guest Randy Tate is the CEO & Co-Founder of iFlip Investor Inc., and AI-powered software company. iFlip’s algorithm “skips the dips” to beat the market and Randy talks about why you may be paying too much for your broker. AB 221 LIVE! The Cult of Engagement with Shep Hyken and Doug Pittman Apr 28, 2020
    Show notes

It doesn’t take much to amaze your customers, you just have to keep them happy. That’s the advice from today’s first guest, Shep Hyken, the Chief Amazement Officer at Shepard Presentations. Now is the time to continue to build the relationships with old customers, reconnect with past clients and don’t forget honesty is always the best policy. Shep says it’s times like these that magnify what’s right or wrong about your company. He also tells Jeffrey why building a “cult of the customer” is a good thing.

Digital Mobile marketing is the future, but we’re stuck in an analogue messaging world. Today’s second guest has made it his mission to change that. Doug Pittman is the founder and CEO of BoardActive Software. He explains how the software will help the next wave of marketers make personal connections with consumers by being ‘VisualMatic.’ Learn how a multi-state trail hike inspired Doug to move forward with his vision and why he says entrepreneurs never really sleep.

AB 220 Live! Return to Better with Sheila Anderson and David Veech Apr 27, 2020
    Show notes

The world will be different once we’re through the COVID-19 pandemic and both guests today say it will be better.

First up is branding and image consultant, Sheila Anderson. Not only has she trademarked the term “Return On Image” (ROI), she’s a best-selling author who has helped many businesses build their brand by developing their personal image. Sheila reminds us that even though we’re working from home, you’re still at work. Dress like it. Every video-conference call is an opportunity to make an impression and it’s not just by what you wear. Sheila also uncovers the difference between a personal brand and a corporate brand and why you should pay attention to the eye candy behind you.

U.S. Army veteran, David Veech, joins Jeffrey for the second half of the podcast. David helps leaders at all levels engage and motivate their teams. He says the best thing leaders can do right now is encourage people NOT to return to normal, instead help them understand they will be returning to better. David also shares with Jeffrey the three things we can do to improve the workplace. Listen to this episode of All business with Jeffrey Hayzlett on C-Suite Radio to find out what those are.
