    ATOOC: Losing a Door in Manchester Jan 31, 2024

    In this episode, a Beech Craft, C99 commuter aircraft took off from Manchester New Hampshire when the tower started noticing the plane flying erratically off course.

    It turns out the cockpit door flew off the aircraft causing the pilot to lose control, while also making communications with the tower very difficult.

    The plane ended up crashing in a nearby residential area.

    Luckily, the sole pilot on board was injured, but survived.

    ATOOC: Leaving Las Vegas...Maybe Jan 26, 2024

    In this episode, a Southwest Airlines Boeing 737 is departing Las Vegas for Portland (SW464) when the flight deck radios the tower.

    As the aircraft climbed past 14,000 feet, the pilots received some flight control malfunction alerts.

    After running their checklists, the aircraft returns to the airport after it is determined they have a rudder failure.

    ATOOC: Oops...Wrong Airport! Jan 25, 2024

    In this episode, we go out to Burbank, California where a Medevac aircraft is looking to come in for a landing.

    The tower loses radar on the aircraft, and then it is discovered that the pilot got confused and landed at nearby Whiteman airport by accident.

    The pilot then turns around and takes off, bound for his original destination... "Burbank".

    In this episode of Air Traffic Out of Control, we go to JFK, where Jet Blue flight 355 is preparing for take off when the plane catches fire on the runway.

    Flames are visibly coming from engine number two of the aircraft and emergency crews are dispatched to deal with the situation.

    ATOOC: Sad Day at SLC Jan 10, 2024

    In this episode of Air Traffic Out of Control, we go over to Salt Lake City.

    A Delta airlines pilot preparing for take off alerts the tower that a suspicious man is on the runway waving his hands in the air.

    Police are alerted and the hunt begins for the individual in the yellow vest who somehow gained unauthorized access to the tarmac.

    Authorities follow reports that the man has been seen in the de-icing field and, sadly, discover his body inside the engine of a plane.

    A very unusual and sad day at Salt Lake City airport.

    ATOOC: Alaska 1282 Jan 06, 2024

    In this episode of Air Traffic Out Of Control, we listen in on the recent incident that took place on Alaska Airlines flight 1282 on January 5th.

    The Boeing 737-9 Max took off from Portland, Oregon bound for Ontario, California, but when it reached 16,000 feet, a portion of the fuselage blew off and the plane immediately depressurized.

    The pressure was so intense that a young boy on the flight had his shirt torn completely off by the suction.

    Oxygen masks were deployed on board for the 177 passengers.

    You will hear the pilot in the recording declare an emergency and immediately request to return to Portland, while attempting to take the plane back down to 10,000 feet due to the depressurization.
