This was an incredible conversation about adventure, grit, a lifetime of learning, and the healing power of the wonderful and awesome outdoors from someone leading the charge in getting college campuses to take advantage of nearby adventure.

    Running: Dan Keeley Runs 1,250 Miles Self-Supported Rome to London – Rome to Home Mission Raising Awareness for Bipolar Disorder and Depression, Post-Manic Episode Recovery, Psychiatric Wards, Suicidal Ideation to New Lease on Life.

    Dan Keeley is on a mission to raise awareness for depression and bipolar disorder by running 1,250 miles self-supported from Rome to London. It's called Rome to Home. In the summer of 2012 he experienced a full-blown manic episode – an episode which culminated with him believing he was ‘the chosen one’ and preaching from the central lane of a major motorway in Italy at rush hour. What followed was a diagnosis of Bipolar Disorder, time spent in psychiatric wards both in Italy and the UK, and the inevitable crippling depression which found him wanting to take my his own life. It has been 5 years now and Dan is doing awesome! He has a new lease on life and is using it to its fullest. Listen in to learn about Dan, his wild trip through this ordeal and what he is doing now to bring attention to this issue. There could not be a nicer guy to help us understand what people with depression are going through.
