WANDAVISION: On A Very Special Episode... Feb 07, 2021

Show notes

This week's Wandavision was huge, and as a result this week's Marvelvision is really big as well. And it's not just Wandavision - this ep begins with a discussion of the latest trailer for Falcon and the Winter Soldier, which aired during the Super Bowl.
As for the main show (which begins at 25 minutes) there's a whole lot to talk about. There's a dog, there's the question of who is the Big Bad of this show if there even is one, there's the question of what's up with Monica's test results, there's the question of what's up with Agnes and then there's the big, potentially franchise-shaking question about what happens at the end of the episode.
It's a lot to chew over and argue about and this week Devin and Derek really argue about it! Plus the DC Multiverse, West Coast Avengers and a whole bunch more.

WANDAVISION: We Interrupt This Program Feb 01, 2021

Show notes

The format breaks! This week Wandavision takes us outside the bubble to see what's going on in the real world and to begin answering the questions we have all had for the previous three episodes.
This episode offers a lot to talk about, so we kept the intro really short - if you jump to about 14:55 you'll get to the recap. But if you do jump there, you'll miss... well, not that much. Marvel news is light this week and the Marvel joke book is truly punishing. There's actually a bit of DC talk on this Marvel podcast.
In this episode of Marvelvision Derek and Devin talk about how to say Monica Rambeau's name, her history as Captain Marvel and Photon and more, they talk about why Devin is so angry at Avengers Endgame and they invite angry responses by talking dirty about the Marvel Netflix shows, which have a very dedicated fanbase.

WANDAVISION: Now In Color Jan 25, 2021

Show notes

The mystery deepens! And by that we mean the mystery of whether or not Derek knows that March comes after February.
Also the mystery of just what is going on in Westview... as well as the mystery of just what the Scarlet Witch's canonical comic book story even is. This is a character who has been conned and retconned, and figuring out which aspects of her stories might make the cut in Wandavision would take many, many hours of podcasts. Devin and Derek try to give you the basics, but even that is pretty convoluted.
Also: the Monkees! Whether or not the Vision produces seed! More terrible Marvel joke book jokes! Speculation about Black Widow's release strategy! And some general wonderment that there's going to be a fourth film set in the Legendary Monsterverse (yeah, it's a little off topic).

WANDAVISION Episodes 1 & 2 Jan 23, 2021

Show notes

Your hosts Devin and Derek Faraci, two middle aged nerds who grew up arguing about comics and movies, talk about the first episodes of Wandavision, Marvel Studios' foray into episodic television on Disney+.
This episode we're off to the races: Derek, a longtime Dick Van Dyke Show fan, appreciates the homage but thinks it's all too slow. Devin loves it. Will they come to an agreement? (No)
In this ep there's discussion of Marvel news - is Chris Evans returning to play Captain America? - as well as a lot of discussion about the 1980s Vision and Scarlet Witch maxiseries from which Wandavision is drawing quite a bit of its inspiration.
To listen to Devin and Derek discuss the Star Wars television universe, including Star Wars Rebels and The Mandalorian, check out the Bad Batch show at www.patreon.com/cinemasangha.
