Hawk Rock Talk: The Definitive Unflappable List of Pink Floyd Records Sep 14, 2026
    Show notes

The Definitive Unflappable List of Pink Floyd Records

Every magazine, website or podcast has ranked the Pink Floyd catalog. Every one of those rankings is wrong.

Jason Gore and Geoff Garlock separately ranked all 15 Pink Floyd studio albums, then entered a brutal negotiation to create one final, legally binding list. No live albums. Only the studio half of Ummagumma. No appeals.

Along the way, Jason defends the Pink Floyd album he bought at a midnight release, Geoff attacks a beloved record almost immediately, Roger Waters climbs directly into his own ass, David Gilmour records from a boat, and the guys confront the horrifying possibility that classic rock radio may have ruined several legitimately great albums.

Which record is the definitive Pink Floyd masterpiece? Which one belongs at the bottom? How much can nostalgia distort a man’s judgment? And does matching an album with 2001: A Space Odyssey automatically make it better?

The final ranking cannot be disputed. It is definitive. It is unflappable. If you disagree, you are flapping and we've already stated, NO FLAPPING ALLOWED. Val Verde is a no flap zone!

Former Intern Hates Us with Sally Ann Hall Sep 07, 2026
    Show notes

Former Intern Hates Us with Sally Ann Hall

Comedian Sally Ann Hall returns to 108.9 The Hawk more than 20 years after serving as the station’s “best intern in the biz.” Unfortunately, Sally Ann remembers the internship very differently than Whisp Turlington and Geoff “The Angry Man” Garlock.

She recalls ordering three lunches every day, being forbidden from eating any of them, getting pelted with cottage cheese, surviving Good Charlotte’s tapioca cannon and enduring an incident involving Peter Cetera and a floor meatball. Whisp and Geoff agree that this may warrant an apology. Whether she receives one is another matter.

Sally Ann also discusses her new Comedy Dynamics comedy special, Dead Wife Pretty, attempts to give away tickets to her own show and dominates a round of “Sounds That Celebrities Make.” Then Art Spart introduces his new traffic intern, Party Ball, whose professional interests appear to have very little to do with traffic.

Also in this broadcast: Geoff presents the definitive ranking of every Red Hot Chili Peppers member, Whisp terrorizes Val Verde’s worst Foreigner tribute band, Queef’s Bowling suffers a devastating mechanical failure and the station issues an urgent warning about Val Verde’s murderous ice cream man.

108.9 The Hawk. Val Verde's second favorite classic rock radio station.

Paul Luzak has finally gotten through to 108.9 The Hawk. Unfortunately, he’s been on hold since 2005.

Brian Huskey joins Whisp Turlington and Geoff “The Angry Man” Garlock as a dedicated radio-contest caller who sacrificed his marriage, his family and 21 years of his life for a chance to win U2 tickets. Now Paul must confront the horrors of 2026, including artificial intelligence, the housing crash, Donald Trump, the death of RadioShack and the terrible truth about Bill Gates.

Plus: Def Leppard’s Pour Some Stevia on Me Tour, Donny the Mangler 3, Art Spart breaks down the deadly Run Like Hell 5K, the latest Hawk Rock News and an unexpected family reunion.

The Cosmic Origin of Whisp Turlington

Whisp Turlington and Geoff “The Angry Man” Garlock are back from a vacation they absolutely did not take together, only to discover Geoff's hostel has burned to the ground and Kegstand has somehow fallen three years behind current events.

Then Whisp finally reveals one of the most important stories in Hawk history: the cosmic-ray incident at Val Verde University that gave him his legendary hair and transformed his former best friend, Victor Loquacious, into the terrifying Dr. Loquacious. Tic-tac tic-tac.

PLUS: Burger Tools! Area 2054! Greg Lemonsour! The 108.9 The Hawk Concert Calendar! More Than Two Feelings! Bachlin Churner Dovervive! WAR's No Original Members Tour! And Fleetwood Mac's most Reddit-poisoned tribute band!

That’s right. Amelia has written a brand-new birthday anthem, and it’s got everything the original forgot: pepperoni, extra sauce, unbelievable pizza deals and the immortal words “crust or bust.”

PLUS: Art Spart returns from online rehab, the Val Verde Dollar Cinemadrome unveils its latest dollar movies, Lower Hog Street declares independence, Whisp prepares his long-range missiles, Stevie Wonder waits angrily in the green room and a new PSA from Geoff “The Angry Man” Garlock
