《USA Today》 1987年的报道称“Intelligent is a good way to describe the house of the future. A home automation system will control virtually every function, from lights to heating and cooling to security. You'll program it from a handset that looks like a TV remote control, or from a touch-sensitive computer screen or simply by talking to it. And you'll be able to control it from anywhere in the world via telephone. Eventually, you won't even have to program your house. It will observe you, note habits and program itself.” -- Landis, D. 1987, Home, smart home;Future house to have mind of its own: FINAL Edition], McLean, Va.
