What winning a GRAMMY is REALLY like (Seth Bolte) Mar 24, 2020
    Show notes

Seth Bolte is a fantastic bass player and recently won a Grammy for his playing on a Jason Crabb album - but is winning a Grammy really all it's cracked up to be?

In our conversation, Seth and I chat about what it is like when our "dreams" actually become realities - and how they often don't happen like we thought they would.

For more on Seth you can follow him over on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/sethbolte/

Drummers Play the Same Groove (Hear a Difference)? - feat Stephen Taylor Feb 18, 2020
    Show notes

Today on the show I'm running a little experiment with my good friend Stephen Taylor. Stephen and I sat down and recorded the same exact 5 grooves to see how two drummers interpret the same grooves.

Stephen has a fantastic podcast called "The Drum Show" which you can find more about that here: https://www.stephensdrumshed.com/the-drum-show-podcast/

Are Chops and Fills "Bad"? Feb 11, 2020
    Show notes

I love drum grooves. I also love drum fills and chops. Can these two things coexist?

Personally, I think they can. Drummers seem to debate this A LOT on the internet, so let's get into it.

    Jeff Porcaro vs. 2020 Jan 21, 2020
    Show notes

Jeff Porcaro is one of the most legendary drummers of all time. I recently heard a masterclass from 1986 he gave at the Musicians Institute. He talks a TON about the music industry so I figured I'd compare some of what Jeff talks about in 1986 to my take on the "modern music industry" of 2020.

The original masterclass video can be found here:

    https://youtu.be/dQ6tzbKsKKk

If you want to check out some of the music I played on in 2019 (like I mention in the intro) visit this page:
