Dr. George Mussalli of Village Obstetrics Oct 31, 2016
    Show notes

In this episode I speak with the very experienced, compassionate and knowledge, NYC obstetrician Dr. George Mussalli.

The reason I sought out Dr Mussalli for this podcast was for listeners to hear an OB speak about interventions, care practices, and maternal age among some other topics. Many women only get to speak with their care provider for a very short time during office visits and often leave not fully understanding what they may encounter during their birth or even simply how the current birth trends may directly affect their birth.

    Show notes

In this episode, I have the chance to catch up the very busy and incredibly fun Tara Stiles! When I interviewed Tara, she was about 27 weeks pregnant. She openly talks about adjusting her yoga practice through pregnancy, food cravings and the needing to let go and accept her new changing body. She also explains the origins and foundation of Strala yoga, it’s philosophy of ease and conservation of energy (this will be very helpful for labor!) and the need to trust and discover your own intuition.

For any pregnant mom or soon to be pregnant yogini- this episode is perfect for you!

Family Centered Cesarean with Narchi Jovic and Suzanne Chesney of ICAN Oct 17, 2016
    Show notes

With one third of babies being born via cesarean, it is important to understand the process of a cesarean birth. However, there are ways to make a surgical birth less “surgical” feeling and shift the focus to a softer, gentler birth, a family centered cesarean, also called a “gentle cesarean.”

This week on Yoga | Birth | Babies we cover the topic of Family Centered Cesarean with Narchi Jovic and Suzanne Chesney, the co-leaders of the NYC chapter of The International Cesarean Awareness Network, Inc. (ICAN)

Narchi and Suzanne seamlessly discuss this topic through offering personal accounts of a gentle cesarean along with stories of supporting women who have experienced a gentle cesarean.

We also talk about the various methods of sleep training and what you can do to set your little one and yourself up for a great night of sleep.
