Week 13 Recap: Jimmy G out for the season, Davante Adams’ dream role & the value of rookie WRs Dec 05, 2022

Show notes

Following a wild afternoon of games, Matt Harmon and Scott Pianowski get together to recap all of the biggest fantasy performances from week 13 in the NFL.

The guys kick off the show with a recap of the San Francisco 49ers’ win over the Miami Dolphins, which saw Jimmy Garoppolo go down with a broken foot that will leave San Francisco with their third starting QB of the season.

After that, the guys discuss the Cincinnati Bengals’ riveting win over the Kansas City Chiefs, including the frustration with trying to pick a Chiefs WR to bet on in fantasy football.

Does anyone offer two better fantasy players, and roles, than the Las Vegas Raiders with Josh Jacobs and Davante Adams? Almost definitely not, and the guys talk about what is wrong with the Los Angeles Chargers offense and whether it can be fixed in time for them to make the playoffs.

The Minnesota Vikings, a bad team with a good record, held off the New York Jets but offered very little in terms of fantasy value. On the opposite side of the spectrum, the Detroit Lions got Amon-Ra St. Brown into the end zone twice and brought D’Andre Swift’s fantasy value back to life.

There’s lots of WR talk, as per usual, including A.J. Brown’s revenge game against the Titans, Christian Watson squarely in Aaron Rodgers’ circle of trust, and the best WR tandem in the league in Seattle.

Week 13 Fantasy Preview: Dak is playing his best football, Tua faces a big test & D’Andre Swift’s role isn’t changing Dec 02, 2022

Show notes

Matt Harmon is joined by Scott Pianowski and Frank Schwab to preview all of the Sunday and Monday NFL games coming up in week 13, with an eye towards fantasy football and maybe a few betting tips as well.

The guys start by talking about how injuries to Elijah Mitchell and Christian McCaffrey could end up being good news for Deebo Samuel managers before wondering if the Kansas City Chiefs running game will be able to get off the ground against the Cincinnati Bengals.

The Los Angeles Chargers won’t be able to stop Raiders RB Josh Jacobs, if Jacobs plays at all, but that situation is a lot clearer than whatever is happening in the Detroit Lions’ backfield with D’Andre Swift and Jamaal Williams.

There are signs of weakness in the run defense of the 10-1 Philadelphia Eagles, who face Derrick Henry this week, and we probably won’t know if Justin Fields is going to play before Sunday.

Find out what to expect from Deshaun Watson against the Texans in his return to the NFL, and who should’ve been the offensive rookie of the year this year (but isn’t going to be).

Finally, the guys wonder if the Dallas Cowboys are the Super Bowl contender than nobody is talking about and discuss why the New Orleans Saints seem tied to Andy Dalton even though James Winston seems ready to play.

Week 12 Recap: Josh Jacobs dominates, Mike White completes the Jets and Trevor Lawrence’s defining moment Nov 28, 2022

Show notes

Matt Harmon and Scott Pianowski recap the NFL’s week 12 Sunday afternoon games with an eye towards their affect on the fantasy football landscape.

After talking about an absolutely massive game from Raiders RB Josh Jacobs, and debating whether or not it’s time to worry about Seahawks QB Geno Smith, the guys start talking about the new starting QBs around the league this week.

Jets QB Mike White was a huge improvement over Zach Wilson, but Bears QB Trevor Siemian failed to live up to Justin Fields’ spectacular play.

Kyler Murray returned to the Cardinals and almost led the team to an upset win over the Los Angeles Chargers in a game that came down to the final drive.

Jacoby Brissett got a win over the Buccaneers before Deshaun Watson returns to take his job with the Browns, and the 49ers RBs struggled to stay healthy while the defense kept the Saints off the board.

Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence, in his second season, finally had the game that we’ve been waiting for from him and led his team to a huge upset over the Baltimore Ravens.

Show notes

Matt Harmon and Scott Pianowski recap all of the Sunday afternoon games from week 11 in the NFL, which offered mostly bad games and a lot of fantasy football misses.

The guys wonder if Daniel Jones or Brian Daboll deserves more credit for the Giants’ success, whether the Cowboys will ever go back to giving Zeke more touches than Pollard and if the Bears need to stop calling designed runs for Justin Fields before he gets seriously injured.

They also discuss the Eagles looking lost without Dallas Goedert, Josh Allen maybe having lost his confidence, the Steelers looking better (but still bad) on offense, and how the heck the Broncos left Davante Adams open in overtime.

Finally, Matt explains why the Jets and Patriots deserve no excuses for their putrid offenses and the guys discuss if Baker Mayfield is one of the worst backup QBs in the league (no starter, backup).
