    Show notes

TRIGGER WARNING: This episode contains content about suicide.

Jason Fox spent 20 years in the special forces, carrying out perilous missions in the most remote & harsh environments. But it's when he left the military after being diagnosed with PTSD that his story really took a turn. Now a staple on our screens on SAS: Who Dares Wins, Jason has used his platform to speak openly about his mental health struggles and how he manages them.

This was such a fascinating conversation, and I can't thank Jason enough for being so vulnerable. I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I enjoyed recording it.

Ep.64 “People Pleasing Is Manipulative”: A Boundary Setting Bootcamp With Michelle Elman Nov 27, 2023
    Show notes

Michelle Elman is a woman with a psychology empire. Her qualifications speak for themselves: she’s a five-board accredited life coach, a Master Practitioner, a Master Hypnotherapist and a psychologist, plus she’s published four bestselling books. But these accolades are more than just a job for Michelle. They’re personal. She faced serious health challenges throughout her childhood, having to endure 15 surgeries, followed by periods of intense self-doubt and low body confidence due to her many scars.

Aged just 21, she began her campaign ‘Scarred not Scared’, advocating for body confidence, and sharing her story with the world. Now, she spends her days coaching others on the importance of self-love, boundaries and acceptance. I’m so excited to share her wisdom with you in this episode.

Today’s episode is all about a subject that is very important to me, female investment & funding, and I couldn’t think of a more qualified person to be discussing this with than Anna Sophie Hartvigsen. A Forbes all-star, Anna is the co-author of the global bestselling book 'Girls Just Wanna Have Funds' and co-founder of Female Invest, Europe’s largest financial education platform for women, which has raised over 12m dollars since launch. I can’t wait to share the important and very needed work she is doing to close the gender investment gap, I don’t need to remind you that women-led startups receive less than 3% of VC funding. So strap in and get your notebooks out, because today’s episode is for everyone who wants to know more about money.

Ep.61 A Masterclass In Defying Stereotypes: How Jordan Brompton Built A Nine-Figure Green Energy Empire Nov 06, 2023
    Show notes

Jordan Brompton is the Co-Founder of myenergi, one of the world’s fastest-growing renewable energy technology companies. Building a nine figure green energy company with 400 staff, it’s safe to say myenergi is turning heads in the renewable tech space. The company’s huge success started with the invention of the Zappi-charger, the world’s first solar charger for electric vehicles capable of using 100% renewable energy. It began as an idea over a bottle of wine with her business partner, and now drives tens of millions of sales each year.

However, myenergi’s journey hasn’t always been plain sailing. I wanted to sit down with Jordan to get to the bottom of what it’s really like running an energy company as a woman. We discuss how she has scaled the business herself, the obstacles she faces on a daily basis, and why it’s important to learn your weaknesses, as well as your strengths. Now myenergi’s CMO, Jordan gives a realistic view into the whirlwind of being on the front line of a startup in an often tumultuous industry. I am so excited to share this episode with you!

Ep.60 "I was pushed to the side": Tasha Ghouri on her mission for a more accessible world Oct 30, 2023
    Show notes

Tasha Ghouri is a television personality, activist, dancer and model, most recognised for her stint on the 2022 Summer series of Love Island UK, with Tasha being the first deaf person to enter the Villa.

Referring to being deaf as her ‘Superpower’, Tasha was born deaf - with her parents identifying her disability when she was just 12 months old - and wears a cochlear implant in her right ear. She launched her own podcast ‘Superpowers with Tasha’’ in February 2023, which focuses on normalising disabilities and explores what once made her feel like an outcast now being her greatest source of strength and community.

Following her exit from Villa and over the last two years, Tasha became the first ever pre-loved brand ambassador for eBay and worked with the likes of brand ambassador for Ann Summers, Loreal Paris, and Essie. In 2021, she was praised for an ASOS campaign where she modelled for ASOS’ earrings wearing the implant and became a figurehead in the deaf community. I’m really looking forward to sitting down with Tasha today to talk about her time during the filming of Love Island, but also to explore life after leaving the Villa; whether the Love Island bubble has truly burst and her work to normalise her differences throughout everything that she does.

    - Tasha's early life

    - The story behind Tasha's cochlear implant

    - Tasha reveals her struggle being deaf at school

    - Why it is essential that schools become accessible

    - Why Tasha nearly didn't go on Love Island

    - Tasha shares how accessible the Love Island villa is

    - Tasha reveals behind the scenes of her first day on Love Island

    - Tasha's experience with the Love Island psych team
