    Wilder Podcast

I’m Karsyn DuPree (a.k.a. Wildernessa): musician, lifestyle blogger, plant-lover, Nashville-dweller, intuitive enthusiast, feminist — you get it. The idea behind the Wilder Podcast is to create a space for Women, Wellness, and Weirdos. From body image, food, and exercise, to spirituality, feminism, business, and maybe even global issues, Wilder is a place to listen to other women’s stories, struggles, and accomplishments to share with other women that their not alone. Maybe this blogger, this musician, this author, this designer, whoever it is that I’m speaking with, has a journey that parallels with someone listening. Maybe they’ve worked hard to achieve their goals, and maybe they never thought they could. With the Wilder Podcast, we’ll explore so many different perspectives, always coming full circle to suck out all the inspiration we can find from our female superhero guests!

Episode #31 | My Journey with Perioral Dermatitis Apr 03, 2019
    Show notes

Hey everyone! If you’ve been following me on Instagram, you’re probably familiar with my six-month struggle with Perioral Dermatitis.

In short, Perioral Dermatitis is defined as a dry, red rash that is sometimes flakey and itchy around the mouth, nose & chin. It can occasionally spread upwards toward the eyes

I discovered through sharing my journey that many of my readers have done form of this or facial eczema as well. I wanted to share what I’ve been doing and what has worked for me.

In the blog post on my site, I’ll share before and after photos of my PD along the way.

The products I’m using currently are the Osmia Black Clay Facial Soap and I alternate between Erbaviva Sunscreen and Avene Cicalfate Cream. I also mention food intolerance testing so stay tuned for my collaboration with Everlywell and we can take a 96-food test together — there will be a discount code for you!

Episode #30 | Personal Update + MY Experience with Postpartum Anxiety Mar 18, 2019
    Show notes

I know it’s been a few months since I’ve released a podcast episode, but I’ve been dealing with what I feel like is a pretty important chapter of my life and I would like to share that with you.

This is a very personal update for me, but this is also the kind of stuff that I enjoy sharing and connecting with other people on. I definitely have felt self-conscious regarding my lack of episodes this year, and I’ve been sitting on my hands waiting for our studio to be set up again (we’ve moved it from one room to another), waiting for my schedule with a toddler to feel more secure so I can interview guests, etc. Essentially, I’ve come to the conclusion that not everything needs to be an absolutely perfect scenario for things to be done, and I’m in a space where sharing and getting this done period feels important for me.

With all that said, I did record this episode with my iPhone headset during Phoenix’s nap last week, so you will hear a sound machine in the background and I believe a train going by at some point.

Nothing groundbreaking in this episode, just trying to share my personal experience with overwhelm, postpartum anxiety and my first experience with depressive tendencies and thought patterns.

Also, want to note that I’m doing really really good as of a couple of weeks ago, and I feel like I’m in a good place to share and hold space for you if maybe this is something you suspect you’re going through. Counseling is on the horizon for me, I’m just kind of doing the insurance dance and making sure I find someone that works for me. I’m not a doctor, but I think it’s safe to say that if you’re struggling and are in a position to get counseling — do it! I went to counseling for a few years and it was so so helpful for me.

I would like to get into the habit of sharing more on my podcast and starting up interviews again. I’ll most likely be doing more solo episodes in the meantime so feel free to send me episode topics! Please remember to subscribe and review the podcast if you like it!

Episode #26 | Postpartum Sex, Life, and Conversations with Jessica Hilzey Jul 23, 2018
    Show notes

What's that smell?!! Can't you smell that smellllllll.

Ahh. The sweet scent of a new episode with a GUEST and not just me. So happy to bring you this episode with the lovely Jessica Hilzey of @KeepBreathingMama on Instagram, as we discuss her experience with birth trauma and how healing from both of her births affected everything from her relationship with food to sex.

How did I meet Jess? Well, honestly, I never have. Sad! We are kindred veggie mamas living in separate states (she's in Grand Rapids, Michigan) and she has really opened my eyes (and ears) to conversations surrounding gentle parenting, lactation, birth, vaccinations, and so much more. She has a genuine voice and really has taken the time to answer my questions in the past, so I just want to share her with the masses!

Announcements from me include how I changed my Instagram handle after TWO YEARS of being @Wldrnessa and really taking on that title. Will it change the blog name? I'm not sure yet. Stay tuned on the podcast for updates.

    Episode #25 | Talking Religion + Life Changes Jul 13, 2018

Another SOLO episode -- sorry, peoples. We're getting there. Trying to stay consistent with the podcast > trying to book guests. Plus! I've received SO many questions on the new Question feature on IG stories. So. I'm tackling a few of those and also giving my weekly update.

Understand that I'm trying to create more diversity on the podcast and I'm opening up this space for those who feel they don't have a voice and want to get that out there! Art, services, something your promoting is a plus. If you have someone you want to nominate (or you personally want) to talk about the following topics: spirituality, understanding the LGBTQIA+ community, or are a person of color and want to be vulnerable and answer questions from the community about your journey, what inspires you, and your challenges, shoot me an email (info@wldrnessa.com).

    Episode #24 | Moving, Money & More + LIFE UPDATE Jul 03, 2018
    Show notes

    Hello, dolls!

It's been a seriously crazy few weeks and this is literally just me checking in to say I haven't forgotten about the podcast. I want to interview all the deliciously amazing mamas and entrepreneurs but first I have to take care of myself and my family. With that being said, I can absolutely carve out thirty minutes during P's nap time to bring you a little TMI episode about myself.

In this episode I discuss a move to TX, our finances (kinda) and my recent Instagram DM break. Feeling good.

Please listen, or not, but please do and don't unsubscribe just yet. Good stuff is coming!

    Episode #23 | Welcome to Season 2 + Ask Me Anything! Jun 11, 2018
    Show notes

Hey everyone! Long time, no see -- er, read?

    ACS_0548.jpg

Today, I'm committing to releasing my first podcast episode of the year, kicking off Season two with a special Ask Me Anything episode. You asked, I answered. No, really. I honestly did my best to answer to most common questions I get on my IG -- we talk everything from sex to what I'm feeding Phoenix to how I currently view sponsored content.

I've honestly been so rough one myself when it comes to when to start the podcast and what the perfect chance will be like. Turns out, there's no time like the present, and I'm sick of putting it off! Let me know if you like these more personal episodes. Personally, I can't wait to have guests on the show to chat all things wellness and entrepreneurship.

Please subscribe and leave a review for this episode!

    xoxo

Episode #22 | Share Love Everywhere with Ashley Reale May 25, 2017
    Show notes
    source: shareloveeverywhere.com

    source: shareloveeverywhere.com

Hello, hello! I guess I'm back, baby! Though, I didn't really mean to take a break. In the intro of this podcast, you'll hear me share a bit about why it is that I've become a bit of a recluse this past month and a half (maybe even three) so I won't spoil everything in this post. That's right --- plug in those headphones now that you've been teased!

I will, however, go ahead and introduce my friend and lovely podcast guest, Ashley Reale of Love Everywhere, a company and brand that focuses on literally spreading love like butter across the world. How does she do it? Whether it's through inspiring cards, printable downloads from her site, or her inspiring posts on IG, Ashley keeps her message clear and caring.

Did I mention her and her husband have conjured up an even sweeter way to make people's days? That's right! They've established a beautiful new concept called The Nicest Thing which is a documentary series they'll make while traveling the country. You can read more below...

Just a little info on the purpose of their Kickstarter for The Nicest Thing:

The Nicest Thing is a 12 episode documentary series and cross county US tour asking people from all walks of life one simple question: "What's the nicest thing someone has done for you?" Our world needs to hear stories of triumph, of celebration, of bright-hearts working hard to make this planet a kinder place. In a country that seems so divided, we will show that with love in our hearts we’re really not all that different.
This project was inspired by my company, Love Everywhere—a kindness company that has left over 12,000 hand written, hand stamped, and hand numbered notes of encouragement hidden in plain sight for strangers to find. (More about Love Everywhere below!) The Nicest Thing is the next step in sharing Love Everywhere, and we need your help to make it a reality!
We will embark on the ultimate road trip, and work hand in hand with our Love Everywhere community across the US, doing pop up events designed to celebrate kindness and hope through local partnerships with boutiques, coffee shops and organizations. We’ll celebrate what’s right in our communities while sharing stories of hope and encouragement. Our signature Love Everywhere cards will be on hand for folks to write and distribute, creating a movement of love at the local level.
The Nicest Thing will inspire us all to share love and kindness each day in simple ways, with friends and strangers alike. This tour and video series will prove that love speaks loudest—and if we let it, love’s unifying power can be the very force that brings us together.
