Marvel's "Agatha All Along" Composer Michael Paraskevas | Exclusive Interview Nov 02, 2024

This past week, Marvel Studios released the season finale of "Agatha All Along", a nine-episode series which tells the story of the infamous Agatha Harkness, who finds herself down and out of power after a suspicious goth Teen helps break her free from a distorted spell. Her interest is piqued when he begs her to take him on the legendary Witches’ Road, a magical gauntlet of trials that, if survived, rewards a witch with what they’re missing. Together, Agatha and this mysterious Teen pull together a desperate coven, and set off down, down, down The Road…

Recently, I got to speak with "Agatha All Along" co-composer Michael Paraskevas, where he shared some stories about how he helped create the sound for the show and how they incorporated some sounds from "WandaVision", in addition to sharing some highlights about his work on the show.

It's been five years since Disney+ first launched in the Netherlands, prior to its official launch in November 2019. Over that time we've seen many new shows and films released on the streaming platform, with original shows like "The Mandalorian" and "WandaVision".

During that time, we've also seen many changes to Disney+. The core concept that just focused on five core brands, Pixar, National Geographic, Marvel, Star Wars and Disney, has slowly shifted to one that is trying to entertain everyone.

But while there have been lots of changes, there are also lots of issues with Disney+ that haven't been fixed after all of these years, and there are also new problems that have evolved over the years.

With the release of "Agatha All Along" on Disney+, this marks the tenth live-action show to be released on Disney+ and a perfect time to take a look back and rank them according to my own preference.

Over the past four years, we've seen a wide range of new characters introduced into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as well as seeing many established characters from the films transition to the smaller screen to explore new stories.

This coming Friday, Disney is releasing the next instalment in the "Descendants" on Disney+. The new film, “Descendants: The Rise of Red” follows the story of Red (Kylie Cantrall), the rebellious daughter of the Queen of Hearts (Rita Ora), and Chloe (Malia Baker), the perfectionist daughter of Cinderella (Brandy). The tyrannical Queen of Hearts incites a coup against Auradon and polar opposites Red and Chloe must join forces to stop her.

Recently, I spoke with Tony-nominated costume designer Emilio Sosa, who designed the costumes for “Descendants: The Rise of Red”, and who explained some of the process of making the movie.

"Young Woman And The Sea" Composer Amelia Warner | Exclusive Interview Jun 22, 2024

This summer, Disney released a brand new original movie called "Young Woman And The Sea", which tells the extraordinary true story of Trudy Ederle, the first woman to successfully swim the English Channel.

Trudy was a remarkable swimmer born to immigrant parents in New York City in 1905, defied societal norms and overcame numerous challenges to become a beacon of inspiration. With the unwavering support of her older sister and dedicated trainers, she not only conquered the ranks of the Olympic swimming team but also achieved the unimaginable–a 21-mile swim from France to England, a feat that remains a testament to human endurance and determination.

Recently, I got to speak with the composer of the film, Amelia Warner and talk to her about her experience working on her first film for Disney.
