Saving Christmas (w/Mariah Lirette) Dec 17, 2020

Show notes

Happy Holidays!

Your hosts celebrate the festive season by welcoming Mariah Lirette back to the show for a breakdown of Kirk Cameron's Saving Christmas, a movie that teaches everyone that materialism during the holidays is just what Jesus wanted for all of us! The discussion includes a breakdown of how this is barely a movie, thoughts on the conspiracy theory-filled rant, Santa beatdowns to dubstep music, Christian hip-hop dance crews and much more.

Next week: Our segment from "Livestream for the Cure" as the guys talked about Reefer Madness.

The show will return on January 7th with brand-new episodes.

150th Episode Spectacular: Hollywood Homicide Dec 10, 2020

Show notes

150 episodes!

Your hosts celebrate their 150th episode by re-doing the 2nd-ever episode (that had dodgy audio and was never available on the podcast feed) in Hollywood Homicide, the 2003 action-comedy starring Harrison Ford and Josh Hartnett, two actors who CLEARLY did not get along throughout the entire shoot. The guys also discuss the 18 million subplots that barely pay off, they wonder just how funny real estate is supposed to be, Nathan makes sure you'll never think of a chocolate donut the same way again and much more. Plus: find out why this episode is the Avengers Endgame of this podcast (no, this is not a finale).

The guys also drop a hint for next week's movie. Check on Facebook or Twitter on Monday for the reveal!

Patreon Pick: Kickboxing Academy (w/Jerika Layne) Dec 03, 2020

Show notes

This Patreon Pick comes to us courtesy of Jerika herself!

This week, Nathan and Brendan are befuddled by the late-90s movie Kickboxing Academy (which may also be called Teen Boxer) starring Chyler Leigh in her first major acting role. Jerika is also here to help the guys figure out who the main character is (a fruitless task) and then they discuss the DVD cover prominently featuring a character that is not in the film, underage drinking, machine guns, the severe amount of padding for a 78-minute (!) film, the writers not knowing the difference between karate and kickboxing and more. Plus: Brendan and Jerika blow Nathan's mind inside out with a very upsetting reveal.

Next week: the 150th episode! The guys will tackle Hollywood Homicide, which was originally a "lost episode" due to the subpar audio quality.
