Episode #92
Dr. Lisa Koche was saved by traditional medicine when she was diagnosed with leukemia as a teenager. After having her first child, her health took another hit and she developed recurrent sinusitis, psoriasis, and Hashimotos thyroiditis. Turning to traditional medicine again to heal, nothing she tried made her feel any better. Left with no answers as to why she was feeling so bad, she decided to go out and find them herself. She started attending seminars and got board certified in anti-aging and functional medicine and taught herself nutrition.
As her own quest for optimal health continues she has created a village of healers in all of the modalities that have truly helped heal her. She is the medical director and founder of Spectra Wellness Solutions, a comprehensive clinic focusing on all aspects needed for total body healing including the ketogenic diet, hormone replacement therapies, and enhancing mitochondrial function. In this episode of What the Fat, we chat about her personal health journey, traditional and integrative medicine, and some of the unique therapies her team provides at the clinic.
