    WestGate Church Teaching

WestGate Church is a community in Silicon Valley learning to live the way of Jesus, together.

Whether you’re exploring faith or have followed Jesus for years, these teachings are an invitation: not just to believe something, but to practice a different way of life. A way marked by presence, transformation, and love.

With campuses in Saratoga, Almaden, and Redwood City, WestGate is a place where you’re welcome as you are, and where we are learning to be with God for the good of all.

    Beautiful Day Celebration | October 18, 2026 Oct 19, 2026
    Show notes

The most meaningful work of serving others isn’t done with paint brushes or hammers. It happens when we simply show up for the people around us. The story of the Bible is that God has always wanted to dwell with people. And the story of the New Testament is how, through Jesus, God’s presence can go with us into our homes, workplaces, schools, and friendships. It’s an invitation to notice those quiet nudges to say a kind word, lend a hand, or go the extra mile, and to let them make an ordinary week extraordinary. SPEAKERS: Jay Kim (Saratoga), David Tieche (South Hills), Andrew Min (RWC) Bible Passage(s): 1 Corinthians 3:16

    The Church As Family | Week 4 - Spiritual Families | October 04, 2026 Oct 05, 2026
    Show notes

Every family — and every close relationship — runs on the same four ingredients: doing the inner work, practicing real forgiveness, giving genuine attention, and speaking real blessing over the people you love. In this message, Brook and Elizabeth Mosser share raw, personal stories about therapy, parenting, and repairing broken trust, making the case that grace — not perfection — is what actually builds strong families. Wherever you're at in your relationships, this is a hopeful, practical look at what it takes to love people well. SPEAKERS: Brook + Elizabeth Mosser (Saratoga), video (South Hills), video (RWC) Bible Passage(s): Galatians 6:10

    The Church As Family | Week 3 - A Shared Life | September 27, 2026 Sep 28, 2026

In John 15, Jesus uses an analogy that He is like a vine, and we’re like the branches on that vine. It’s clear that He really does want us to grow in our maturity, and bear fruit, like a vine produces grapes. But real growth — whether it’s in a vineyard or in life — never happens by accident. In this message, we explore how the earliest Christian community built an intentional, shared rhythm of life together, and what it might mean for you and I to let love (not just busyness) shape our priorities today. SPEAKERS: Jay Kim (Saratoga), David Tieche (South Hills), Andrew Min (RWC) Bible Passage(s): Acts 2:41-47

    The Church As Family | Week 2 - A Genuine Community | September 20, 2026 Sep 22, 2026
    Show notes

It's possible to be surrounded by people and still feel completely unknown. This message explores what it takes to move from “just being in the same area” to real connection. How can we move in our relationships from sharing not just the same space, but sharing our burdens, honesty, and life itself. And we explore how Jesus's own way of asking questions shows us the way forward. SPEAKERS: David Kim (Saratoga), David Tieche (South Hills), Andrew Min (RWC) Bible Passage(s): Acts 2:42-47

    The Church As Family | Week 1 - A New Family | September 13, 2026 Sep 14, 2026

Most of us think of faith as something private — a belief we hold, on our own terms, at our own pace. But Jesus had a different vision entirely. In fact, He called the people who followed him "brothers and sisters" — not a figure of speech, but an invitation into a real family. This message explores why that invitation is so countercultural today, why community is often harder than independence, and why it might be exactly what we're each still looking for. SPEAKERS: Jay Kim (Saratoga), video (South Hills), video (RWC) Bible Passage(s): Acts 2:42-47

The Pace Of Peace | Come to Me, Learn from Me, and Rest | Sep. 6, 2026 Sep 09, 2026

“So much to do, so little time,” so the saying goes. Overextended schedules, unmanageable calendars, and impossible to-do lists—these are the markers of life in the modern world. But what if the more we try to do everything, the less we’re doing anything truly meaningful? Thankfully, busyness and distraction aren't new, and there is a proven way through - a way to focus attention and experience the gifts of an examined life with God. In this teaching, we explore the ancient antidotes for the aches of our busy and distracted age. SPEAKER: Jay Kim

    The Gospel of John (Part 2) | Division Over Jesus | August 30, 2026 Aug 31, 2026
    Show notes

In John 7, we see a crowd gathering and arguing over who Jesus is — some call him a prophet, some think he might be the Messiah, and others reject him outright. It's a story about how partial knowledge of Scripture can masquerade as certainty, and how even religious experts can be so sure they're right that they stop investigating the truth in front of them. Is the Jesus we've settled on the real one? We we learn that since very beginning, Christians have understood that we need each other. We need vulnerable, Spirit-led community to keep us honest and help us see God - and His work - more clearly. SPEAKERS: David Kim (Saratoga), David Tieche (South Hills), Andrew Min (RWC) Bible Passage(s): John 7:40-52

    The Gospel of John (Part 2) | Living Water | August 23, 2026 Aug 24, 2026
    Show notes

We all want something — significance, control, answers, a better life. But what if the thing you want most isn't actually the thing you need most? In John 7, Jesus stands up at a crowded festival and makes a surprising offer: not more information, not a better plan, but living water for a soul that's dying of thirst. The only requirement? Just being thirsty. SPEAKERS: Jay Kim (Saratoga), David Tieche (South Hills), video (RWC) Bible Passage(s): John 7:1-39

The Gospel of John (Part 2) | To Whom Shall We Go | August 16, 2026 Aug 17, 2026
    Show notes

We all love the idea of change — the body without the workout, the career without the risk, the marriage without the hard conversations. In this message from John 6, we look at the moment Jesus' own followers heard a hard teaching and walked away. We explore what it actually means to stay faithful to Jesus even when His words are hard to hear. Because following Jesus was never meant to be convenient — but even when we fail Him, He's always calling us back. SPEAKERS: David Kim (Saratoga), Archie Jackson (South Hills), video (RWC) Bible Passage(s): John 6:41-71

The Gospel of John (Part 2) | The Bread of Life | August 09, 2026 Aug 10, 2026
    Show notes

Why does getting exactly what you wanted so often still leave you unsatisfied a few weeks later? This message unpacks the psychology behind why achievement, comfort, and even winning never quite fill the hole they promise to — and turns to Jesus' words in John 6, where he calls himself "the bread of life," to explore what our deepest hunger actually requires. And in it, we find that Jesus challenges us to really pay attention to the difference between what we chase and what will actually satisfy us. SPEAKERS: Jay Kim (Saratoga), David Tieche (South Hills), video (RWC) Bible Passage(s): John 6:22-40
