DVC shared the details of the return of Welcome Home Weeks, including a 40% dining discount at select restaurants and free treats for members. Disney announced DVC Member and Annual Passholder previews for Soarin' Across America and Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets. The guys discuss the hot start Big Thunder Mountain Railroad got off to after its year long refurbishment and they fire off a list of all of the enhancements made to the iconic ride. Disney gave a first look at the Bluey-themed "Fairy Bread" coming to Animal Kingdom. Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets will not utilize a virtual queue upon its official re-opening. A summer preview for Disney Springs highlights the upcoming Level 99 mini-games experience and the Six Ravens restaurant from the team behind Gideon’s Bakehouse. Disneyland announced that all Autopia cars will transition to being fully electric by early 2027.

New details are revealed for Lakeshore Lodge, the nature-inspired resort at Walt Disney World scheduled to open in summer 2027. Walt Disney Imagineering shares a behind-the-scenes look at Lakeshore Lodge construction, the new Muppets-themed loading area for Rock 'n' Roller Coaster, and Big Thunder Mountain. A new one-hour ambience video featuring the sights and sounds of Living with the Land is now available. Disney Cruise Line extends its agreement with the Port of San Diego through 2031 with plans to increase sailings. A new promotion offers 50% off kids' fares on select Disney Cruise Line itineraries departing through early 2027. The classic Little Red elephant animatronic from the original Kilimanjaro Safaris storyline is reportedly visible on select tours at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. New Bluey merchandise, including customizable headbands and jewelry, is arriving at Disney Parks and the Disney Store. The latest Star Wars Day collection features pod racing-inspired apparel.

Disney announced an opening date, ride vehicle, celebrity cameos, and a set list for Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets. DVC members will have access to a preview of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppet prior to the May opening date. The free Water Park perk is returning to Walt Disney World in 2027, but with a new restriction. Walt Disney Imagineering revealed that the newly refurbished Big Thunder Mountain Railroad will have 2,000 new bats within the mountain. Disney will offer the Deluxe Dining Plan again starting in 2027. Galaxy’s Edge timeline updates will start soon at Disneyland and Disney provided new details about the changes. Disney released another preview of May the Fourth merchandise including a mystery shirt box and Endor themed items.

Episode 347: Tom's Trip Report, Big Thunder Reopening & La Poutinerie Apr 13, 2026

Tom is back from his recent vacation and he has brought along a special guest, his wife Karyn, to help with the trip report. They share a full trip report from their last-minute five-night sailing on the Disney Fantasy. They discuss the ship’s unique "homey" atmosphere, the high level of service they experienced compared to their time on the Disney Treasure, and what it was like navigating 60 mph winds and 15-foot seas on their final night. Tom and Karyn also recount their relaxing follow-up stay at Disney’s Vero Beach Resort, highlighting the magical cast member interactions and a special coloring session with Pluto. DVC formalized penalties for violating the commercial use policy for renting points. The guys discuss the excitement surrounding the reopening of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad at Magic Kingdom, which features a brand-new track and a lowered height requirement of 38 inches. New Star Wars merch coming to Disneyland includes a protocol droid head popcorn bucket. Disney plans to bring the walking Olaf robot to all the parks and cruises. EPCOT’s Refreshment Port will transform into "La Poutinerie," hosted by Air Canada.

The guys are thrilled to welcome back author and Disney expert The Dapper Danielle, along with her co-author Ian, to discuss their latest book, I Love EPCOT. Danielle and Ian dive deep into the fascinating history of EPCOT, from its origins as a mishmash of two separate concepts to the evolution of its iconic pavilions. They share surprising stories about the design process, including how the original ticketing structure changed forever because of this park. They share their controversial view about the "correct" way to tour World Showcase—starting with Canada—based on original Imagineering sightlines and training manuals. From the technical history of Figment and his color-changing ways to a rapid-fire round on defunct attractions like Captain EO and Body Wars, the duo offers a masterclass in EPCOT history. They also give a sneak peek into their third book focused on "lost Disney" and explain why some of their favorite EPCOT deep-dives ended up on the cutting room floor.
