    Matt McGachy, the vocalist of extreme metal band Cryptopsy, interviews fellow metal musicians about their life & music while sharing a craft beer on his metal podcast Vox&Hops. Matt has been the front man of the legendary Death Metal Band Cryptopsy since 2007. With them, he has contributed to 2 full length albums, 2 EPs & toured all over the globe playing massive festivals such as Wacken Open Air, Brutal Assault, Heavy Montreal, Hell Fest & Summer Breeze to name a few. In 2018, he launched the Vox&Hops Metal Podcast which was inspired by his love of Craft Beer & thought-provoking discussions.     Throughout this interview Mikael was drinking Stigbergets Bryggeri's "IPA with Orange" as well as their "Miami Meow DIPA" which is a collaboration alongside J. Wakefield Brewing & All In Brewing Co. which clocked in with an 8% ABV.

    Matt was drinking Brasserie Générale's "Grand-Maman Gâteau". This decadent Pastry Stout was brewed with copious amounts of Macadamia Nuts, Roasted Coconut, Cacao, Madagascar Vanilla & lactose. It was absolutely stunning!!! It kicked off sweet, radiated nutty vibes, had a coconut finish & was super silky. It clocked in at a very dangerous 10.9 % ABV.

    Throughout this interview we were enjoying Adroit Theory Brewing's "Now I Am Death, Destroyer Of Worlds" the Hazy Triple IPA. It was slightly dank, ultra juicy & dangerously crushable despite its 10% ABV. Matt then wrapped with this chat with Adroit Theory Brewing's "Still on My Grind" the Mexican Style Lager which was crisp, perfectly malt based & ultra crushable. It clocked in with a 4.7% ABV.

    Matt was drinking Beauregard Brasserie Distillerie's "Impériale Choco-Noisette". This Imperial Stout was brewed with copious amounts of Hazelnuts & was aged in Bourbon Barrels. It was chocolatey, nutty & divinely boozy. It clocked in with a 10.3% ABV.

    A conversation about what we think of each other as vocalists, the overlying lyrical theme, what does the band mean to us, Once Was Not, past members, something we wished we could change, the Montreal Scene & our hangover cures.


    Throughout this interview Lord Worm was drinking Microbrasserie Dieu du Ciel's "Boire Prague et Mourir". This Czech inspired Pilsner was crisp, perfectly balanced & absolutely crushable. It clocked in with a 5% ABV.


    Mike DiSalvo was drinking Microbrasserie Pit Caribou's "La Gaspésienne #13". This robust porter was malt driven, radiated roasted coffee & was ultra smooth. It clocked in with a 6.2% ABV.


    Martin was drinking Microbrasserie Moulin 7's "Imperial ObscurIPA". This brew was made in collaboration with Gorguts & funnily enough Martin is the one who designed the artwork on the label. This Imperial Black IPA was slightly bitter, chocolatey & packed a sweet boozy bite. It clocked in with a 8% ABV.


    Bradley was drinking Reign Energy's "Sour Apple".


    &


    Matt enjoyed specially selected beers for each of the other Cryptopsy vocalists.


    In honor of Lord Worm, Matt chose Brasserie SILO's "Louvain". This Czech inspired Pilsner was crisp, had a prefect malt bite & was undeniably refreshing. It clocked in with a 4.2% ABV.


    In honor of Martin Lacroix, Matt chose Pub Brewskey's "Piña Colada Brew Juice". This Smoothie Sour was brewed with coconut, pineapple & marshmallows. It was creamy, fruity, mildly sour & absolutely fantastic!!! It clocked in with a 5.2% ABV.

    In honor of Mike DiSalvo, Matt chose Beauregard Brasserie Distillerie's "Porter Baltique Bourbon". This Imperial Baltic Porter was aged in Bourbon Barrels. It was boozy, slightly sweet & stunning. It clocked in with a 8.6% ABV.
