    Viral is a public health podcast for both public health nerds and the general public started by Linsey Grove and Quinn Lundquist and hosted by Linsey and Megan Albertson. Public health consists of too many topics and professionals to name–but we’re going to try to cover it all. From baby bottle tooth decay to social justice, we will discuss the historical context, cultural relevance, and current connections to each topic while interviewing our colleagues in the field.     One recurring theme of this show is that people throughout history have used religion and storytelling to explain what was then unexplainable. In today’s episode, Linsey and Quinn discuss Shapona, the Yoruba god of smallpox, and Endovelicus, the god of public health and safety in pre-Roman Lusitania (modern-day Portugal).
