Big 12 Media Days takeaways w/ Sam Khan Jr. Jul 16, 2021
    Show notes

Andy and The Athletic's "Texpert" Sam Khan Jr. thumb through the Big 12 Media Days storylines. What singular question was Big 12 commissioner Bob Bowlsby peppered with at the start of media days? What was Steve Sarkisian's response to questions along the line of "what has cursed Texas and how can it be remedied'? Who will start at QB for the Longhorns? Should Oklahoma lose an opening-round playoff game, will people begin to question if Lincoln Riley can get the job done? So...Horns Down is illegal now? Why? Just why? Just at 26-years-old, Kenny Hill is swiftly rising up the college coaching ranks now as TCU's quarterbacks coach. How high is the ceiling for the ex-Aggies QB? Plus, Dave Aranda's second year outlook and Lance Leipold's tenure at KU is already off to a KU-esque start.

The one question we'd ask at each conference media day Jul 12, 2021
    Show notes

Fresh off their vacations, Andy and Ari are back in action and with media days in their sights, the guys each pose a question that they'd ask at each conference's media day. Which non-Clemson ACC team is ready to carry some weight? What's a better outcome for Michigan: a season with a winning record, or a year where the team beats Ohio State but is .500 at best? Coach Sark, in your eyes, what's held Texas back in the past?

State of the Program: Penn State w/ Audrey Snyder Jul 09, 2021
    Show notes

Andy and the (Nittany) lion of Penn State coverage for The Athletic, Audrey Snyder, joins the show to preview PSU's 2021 season. Was 2020 the most bizarre and inauspicious campaign in school history? What can Penn St. fans expect from Mike Yurcich's offense? How will Sean Clifford and the club's skill position players be utilized this year? Which defense position is deepest for James Franklin's crew? Does Penn stand a chance against Ohio State this season? Should the university consider hosting TWO White Outs? Andy and Audrey eagerly look ahead to the season-opener against Wisconsin.

CFB '21 Win Totals: Could Clemson miss the playoffs; North Carolina a 10-win team & is the Texas turnaround here? Jul 07, 2021
    Show notes

Can you feel it, Mr. Krabs? There are only seven-ish weeks until the 2021 College Football season is here, and though kickoff still seems so far away, Andy and Ari try mollifying this sense of longing by going over 2021 win totals. Just as Ari's about to make my life easy by dropping a magma-hot take, he freezes it quicker than Han Solo in Carbonite by spinning a preface to his opinion, but then he gets to it - Clemson may miss the playoffs. Is there a chance Dabo and co. miss the postseason? Which games on their schedule could they lose? Staying in ACC land, can Sam Howell and the Tar Heels win 10 games this year? Which Big 12 team might fall short of expectations this year after exceeding them last year? Penn State is primed for a bounce-back campaign after last year's stinker, right? Does Steve Sarkisian have enough Crimson Tide wax to polish a dull Texas team, and how many games will LSU win?

NIL is HERE: Best deals, brands so far; Cameo is crazy & why is Andy willing to donate $2,000? Jul 02, 2021
    Show notes

Name, image and likeness is here! Andy and The Athletic's Bruce Feldman react to NIL's maiden voyage and hone in on deals and brands by athletes that are already turning heads. Is Cameo a potential goldmine for athletes? Andy and Bruce unearth some gems in Cameo's Rolodex of celebrities and athletes and decide whether these stars are over- or undercharging for their services. Lastly, under what circumstance would Andy donate $2,000? (Hint: It has to do with Stewart Mandel and a guitar.)

The Transfer Portal Top 100 w/ Max Olson Jun 30, 2021
    Show notes

Andy and The Athletic's Max Olson jump into the transfer portal discourse like they're at Apertuer Science, Inc. (#thecakeisalie)! The guys outline the criteria used to rank the transfer portal stakeholders and highlight the Tennessee-to-Oklahoma move. Which SEC school's offense projects to take a huge leap forward in 2021 because of the portal? Which transfer quarterback will have the most impact next season? The duo provides a comprehensive look at some top-100 footballers to deduce why these athletes moved on from their former programs, and project how they'll perform at their new homes. Also, who won the transfer portal sweepstakes?
