    A Holistic Approach to Solving the Issues Women Face in Healthcare with Priya Bathija Jun 13, 2023

    In episode 34 of the United SHE Stands podcast, we sit down for a conversation with Priya Bathija to chat about the many challenges women face in our healthcare system, and how Priya is part of the movement to finding solutions. Spoiler alert, problems with women's health go far beyond the issues with maternal healthcare!
    Priya Bathija is the founder and CEO of Nyoo Health, an organization dedicated to improving access and redefining health and healthcare for women. She is also an adjunct professor at Loyola University Chicago School of Law where she teaches healthcare payment and policy.
    Previously, she was at the American Hospital Association where she led policy efforts and strategic initiatives on value, health equity and maternal health. She started her career as a healthcare attorney and served as in-house counsel and a member of the leadership teams at ProMedica and MedStar Health.
    She currently serves on a number of non-profit boards, including the American Board of Medical Specialties, The Policy Center for Maternal Mental Health, and the South Asian Bar Association of North America.

    From Community Activist to City Leader: How Cheyane Thacker Has Made an Impact on Her City Jun 06, 2023

    In episode 33 of the United SHE Stands podcast, we chat with another leader from Tiffin, Ohio - Cheyane Thacker. She talks about how she got to where she is today in such a short period of time, all the ups and downs that came with it, and how we all can get involved locally... no matter how old you are!
    Cheyane is a Tiffin City Council Member At-Large and serves as the Chair of the Streets, Sidewalks, and Sewers Committee. She is the President and a founding member of Seneca Proud, a small non-profit focused on the LGBTQ community in and around rural Seneca County, Vice President of Family Counseling Services, Vice-Chair of the Seneca County Democrats, and board member of the Ritz Players and the Ritz Marketing Committee. Cheyane is a legal assistant and lives in Tiffin, Ohio with her spouse, Steven, and their three cats.

    A Conversation with Mayor Dawn Iannantuono: The Road to Becoming a City's Top Leader May 16, 2023

    In episode 29 of the United SHE Stands podcast, we sit down with the Mayor of Tiffin, Ohio - Dawn Iannantuono! She shares her journey that led her to this position and what her day-to-day life is like as Mayor, and most importantly, a female Mayor.
    Dawn is a Tiffin native, growing up in rural Tiffin. She and her husband Dan are the parents of two children and grandparents to five. She started and owned her business Draperies and Designs, Inc. for 35 years. During this time she served on the Tiffin City School board for 18 years plus an additional three years on the Vanguard Sentinel Career Center board. She thought her public service career was done but was asked to fill a ward council seat on Tiffin City Council a few months later. A position she held for six years until last July when she became the Mayor of Tiffin. She has always been very active in her community. She cantors mass every weekend for St. Mary Church for about 20 years. Dawn is also a member of Kiwanis having served as president, a Division Lt. Governor, and also forming another Kiwanis Club in Tiffin.

    Ranked Choice Voting with Kyle Herman from Rank the Vote Ohio May 02, 2023

    In episode 27 of the United SHE Stands podcast, we sit down with Kyle Herman to talk about Ranked Choice Voting, why this democracy reform initiative is gathering support around the United States, and how it can help fix our broken system.
    Kyle Herman co-founded Rank the Vote Ohio in 2020 and volunteered in different capacities until he was hired to serve as Ohio’s first full-time Executive Director with the help of their national partner Rank the Vote USA in December 2022. Kyle's previous experience includes managing pro-democracy programs in Iraq and Lebanon, responding to letters for the White House Office of Presidential Correspondence, and teaching high school history and civics. A proud son of Stow, Ohio, Kyle earned degrees from Ohio Wesleyan University and the Harvard Kennedy School of Government.
