Analyzing to the Cleveland Browns free agency moves & Predicting what's next for Andrew Berry Mar 12, 2024

Show notes

The Cleveland Browns didn't make any "splash" moves on the first day of NFL free agency, but Andrew Berry did sign three players on the defensive side of the ball. The Browns signed Jordan Hicks to a 2-year deal, re-signed Za'Darius Smith to a 2-year deal, and brought back Mo Hurst on a 1-year deal. On the flip side, Anthony Walker, Sione Takitaki and Mike Ford all signed deals with other teams. How did AB do on the first day of free agency? Which free agents left on the board would you circle as the guy AB needs to sign? Maybe Aaron Jones? What about Jameis Winston, who is now being linked to Cleveland as a potential QB2? What does this Jameis rumor change your opinion on Joe Flacco's chances of returning to the Browns? Locked On Broncos podcast host Cody Roark joins the show to discuss what kind of player the Browns are getting in Jerry Jeudy and whether or not Deshaun Watson can get the best out of him. Show notes

Jerry Jeudy is a former first-round pick who entered the NFL with much potential that has yet to be fully tapped. The Cleveland Browns sent a 5th & 6th round pick to the Denver Broncos in exchange for fourth-year WR Jerry Jeudy. The Browns get a 24-year-old player who will be playing in the final year of his deal, looking to prove his doubters wrong with a fresh start in Cleveland. Jeudy joins an offense that includes Deshaun Watson, Nick Chubb, David Njoku, Elijah Moore, and Amari Cooper. Cooper, a former Alabama Alumni, should serve as a mentor to him. Which free agent do you feel MOST CONFIDENT will end up signing with the Cleveland Browns? Mar 08, 2024

Show notes

NFL Free Agency unofficially begins on Monday, so before the weekend starts, the UCSS guys are predicting who the Cleveland Browns will end up signing. We asked each of the guys to put on Andrew Berry's hat to create their ideal free agency haul for the team over the next few weeks. Joe Flacco is still a very popular name in Cleveland, and could be one of those free agents who signs with the Browns when its all said and done. But should the backup QB spot really that be important? The Cleveland Cavaliers host the 1st place Minnesota Timberwolves tonight. Both Donovan Mitchell and KAT are out so it won't be a star studded affair like we had hoped it'd be, but it's still a good test for the Cavs offense against the #1 defense in the NBA. Plus, who is on the Cleveland Mt. Rushmore of "What Ifs..." -- guys who didn't pan out like you had hoped? Are Johnathan Greenard & Gabe Davis two moves Cleveland Browns fans would appreciate? Mar 07, 2024

Show notes

In Episode 5 of the Ultimate 216 Show, Earl Da Pearl will discuss why he believes paying big money to a pass rusher and NOT a WR is the best move for the Cleveland Browns as they approach free agency. Not spending big money on a WR in free agency does not mean you don't address the position at all; what it means is that there is more value to be had as an edge rusher than as a WR in the free agency market. Earl Da Pearl has landed on the big-money acquisition of Houston Texans pass rusher Johnathan Greenard, who's 27 years old and is coming off a season where he recorded 15 TFL and 12.5 sacks. The Browns will still need a wide receiver, and you may be able to get Gabe Davis for a pretty good price. Davis, who played in Buffalo with new offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey, isn't the most attractive option; however, his deep-threat ability gives him a lot of value in an offense that is set to receive an extreme makeover. Stand-up Comedian and Cleveland native Brian Tidwell, better known as "B Tidy," will make his debut on the Ultimate 216 show and discuss his journey as a comedian, his upcoming show on March 14th at the Funny Bone (formerly known as the improv), check out his parlay presented by FanDuel for Thursday's slate of NBA games, and most importantly...LAUGH!

Which player on the Browns is next to get a contract restructured: Deshaun Watson or Myles Garrett? Mar 07, 2024

Show notes

The Cleveland Browns need a wide receiver this offseason, and are now being linked to LA Chargers WR Mike Williams via a trade. Williams, who is likely going to be cut soon as a cap casualty, played at Clemson with Deshaun Watson. If you're the Browns, would you trade for Williams, or just try and sign him in free agency? Evan Mobley will miss "extended time" with an ankle injury he suffered against the Celtics. The Cleveland Cavaliers needed him last night against the Hawks. Atlanta outlasted the Cavs and stole the win. Was this a schedule loss or something bigger? What should JB Bickerstaff do with Sam Merrill moving forward? Andrew Berry has a chance to restructure a few more deals to create cap space to utilize this summer. Will he restructure Watson's deal? Myles Garrett's? Nick Chubb's? Amari Cooper's? Plus, Greg Newsome could be a valuable trade commodity this offseason with so many teams in need of a DB this offseason. What's the best return the Browns could get for him and the 54th pick in the draft? Josh Naylor is due for a contract extension, but will the Cleveland Guardians be willing to pay him what he deserves?
