DeAndre Hopkins is officially a free agent.

The Arizona Cardinals cut the star wide receiver over the weekend which could open the door for a possible reunion with Deshaun Watson & the Cleveland Browns.

This time around, the Browns wouldn't have to trade any assets for Hopkins, so should Andrew Berry be aggressive in his pursuit? Or at this point, with Elijah Moore & Cedric Tillman in the fold, do the Browns even need him?

The NFL season officially kicks off in 100 days so the UCSS panel is drafting the different position groups on the Browns to see who can put together the best 3-group unit.

The Miami Heat are headed to the NBA Finals after beating the Celtics in Game 7 last night. Does Miami have any shot against the Nuggets, and does it make you feel any better or worse about the Cavs knowing an 8-seed from your own conference is now playing for the Larry O'Brien trophy?

How the Cleveland Browns should honor the late Jim Brown May 22, 2023

Show notes

The world lost a legend on Friday when it was announced Cleveland Browns icon Jim Brown passed away at the age of 87.

Brown was arguably the best running back to ever play in the NFL and was also a civil rights stalwart who fought for equality.

Jim Brown is the only player to ever win the NFL's MVP award as a rookie, which was just the start of his legendary career.

Per the team's release on his passing:

"Brown is the Browns’ all-time rushing leader with 12,312 rushing yards and 106 touchdowns across his nine-year career, which spanned from 1957-1965. He never missed a game in his career, led the league in rushing eight times and was voted MVP three times. Brown was an NFL Champion with the Browns in 1964 and helped lead them to the NFL Championship game three times (1957, 1964, 1965). He was also voted to the Pro Bowl every year of his career and was a first-team All-Pro selection in eight seasons.

Brown was considered the greatest running back in the history of the sport at the time of his retirement and remains one of the greatest rushers to ever play in the NFL. He sits 11th all time in rushing yards and sixth all-time in rushing touchdowns.

Born in St. Simons Island, Georgia, in 1936, Brown’s athletic feats began at Manhasset Secondary School, where he dominated in football, basketball, baseball, lacrosse and track as a high school athlete. His otherworldly talents led him to Syracuse, where he continued to excel as a multisport athlete in football, basketball, lacrosse and track."

In other news, the Cleveland Guardians were swept by the Mets over the weekend and we're officially teetering on "what the hell is going on here?" territory.
