No fights to watch tonight. Instead, have a listen to the latest episode of Din’s Got Answers, hosted by our pal and yours Din Thomas.
Got questions about the UFC? Well, Din Thomas is here to answer them. Din will use his experience as a UFC veteran, analyst, comedian, coach to the biggest names in the sport, co-star of Dana White: Lookin’ for a Fight, host of The Din Diaries, and more to answer your questions about everything and anything UFC related.
On this episode, Din hits on three questions.
First, what are the best rivalries in UFC history and why are they so important to the sport? Second, why is wrestling so effective in MMA? And third, Din gets into some WTF moments in the UFC, including Kamaru Usman getting knocked out by Leon Edwards at UFC 278 and the craziness of three fights being switched last minute at UFC 279.
Din kicks things off discussing the best rivalries in UFC history. First, he goes back in time as he breaks down the rivalry between two iconic fighters, Chuck Liddell and Tito Ortiz. Then, he moves on to a rivalry that had a lot of tension, Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier. Following that, Din looks at a feud involving one of the most polarizing figures in UFC history, as he hits on Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier’s rivalry. To close out, he touches on a rivalry with two all-time welterweight greats, Georges St-Pierre and Matt Hughes and then lets you know if rivalries are good for the sport.
Why is wrestling so effective in MMA? Din has his answer and he hollers at his homie Greg Jones to chime in. Yes, it’s that Greg Jones, one of the most successful collegiate wrestlers of all-time with three NCAA Division 1 titles at West Virginia and the current head coach at Kill Cliff FC. Greg gives insight into coaching some of the best wrestlers in the UFC, as well as emphasizing the importance of reps in competition and he provides his answer as to why wrestling is so effective in MMA.
To wrap things up, Din drops his answers to some WTF moments in the UFC. Including the shocking knockout by Leon Edwards against Kamaru Usman at UFC 278 and the madness of three fights being switched last minute at UFC 279.
Enjoy!
