    Twin Cities by Night

Welcome to Twin Cities by Night.
This channel began as a way to share our chronicles of White Wolf’s Vampire: The Masquerade, starting with the campaign that bears our name. At its heart, our storytelling embraces the darker tones of the World of Darkness—exploring themes of personal horror, morality, and the struggle against the Beast within. While Twin Cities by Night remains our flagship tale, we have since expanded to explore a wide variety of tabletop roleplaying games. Alongside our central chronicle, we’ve told stories such as Servitude (Ghouls: Fatal Addiction), Juarez on Fire (Vampire: The Masquerade), and The Ultimate Evil (Chronicles of Darkness). We’ve also ventured into mythic sagas with Scion, the raw emotions of Monsterhearts 2, the chivalric tragedy of Pendragon, and the occult mysteries of Call of Cthulhu.
Every chronicle—whether rooted in the World of Darkness or beyond—remains dedicated to what drives us most: immersive storytelling, complex characters, and the atmosphere of darkness that binds them all together.

Eclipse Phase "Continuity" The Final Chapter: The Istari’s Shadow Jun 28, 2019
    Show notes

With Kepler’s atmosphere threatened and a cloud of unknown gray particulate drifting through the station, the crew is forced to move from containment to confrontation. Nanotech warnings confirm their worst fears: whatever has docked with the station isn’t just damaged—it’s dangerous.

Following the connection tube into the mining vessel Istari, they find an eerily quiet docking bay stripped of much of its gear and lined with dormant drones and launch racks. But something is moving in the darkness, and the faint traces of earlier boarding attempts hint that they may not be the first versions of themselves to set foot here.

As mismatched priorities collide—escape, investigation, duty, and survival—the group faces the kind of choices only transhumans can: what parts of themselves they’re willing to abandon, what risks they’ll take to keep their egos and secrets safe, and how far they’ll go to keep a threat contained at the edge of the Kuiper Belt.

    About the Chronicle

Eclipse Phase – “Continuity” is a standalone sci-fi horror story set ten years after the Fall, when transhumanity narrowly survived the rogue TITAN AIs that shattered Earth. This one-shot, presented as a Firewall “training XP,” follows a small crew of Argonaut-aligned researchers and specialists as they confront the very real dangers hidden inside a technology that promises immortality.

Drawing on Eclipse Phase’s core themes—backup egos, morphs, identity, and the fragile illusion of safety—“Continuity” lets listeners experience how a routine protocol can unravel into paranoia, sabotage, and existential dread among the stars.

Eclipse Phase "Continuity" Chapter 2: Broken Signals Jun 26, 2019
    Show notes

As the Kepler’s systems falter and the air grows thin, the crew splits up to hunt for answers. Ellis and Roland force their way into Operations, where the station’s resident AGI, Hans, is still online—but fractured, paranoid, and obsessed with something he calls “gray dust.” Buried in quarantined memory banks, Ellis uncovers disturbing fragments of what happened after their last ego backup: a damaged mining vessel on a collision course, a shuttle launch, and earlier versions of themselves that never returned.

Meanwhile, Saul and Sorus push deeper into the compromised sections of the station, trying to stem atmosphere loss and make sense of the deliberate sabotage that’s left airlocks forced open and tools scattered to the void. What they find instead is evidence that Kepler is no longer alone: a docked connection tube from an unknown ship and a foul stench drifting in from the dark.

With wireless comms still jammed and their own backups now a source of fear, the crew must decide what they can trust—Hans, their memories, or each other—before whatever reached out to Kepler finishes what it started.

Eclipse Phase "Continuity" Chapter 1: Continuity Episode 1: Lost Time on Kepler Jun 24, 2019
    Show notes

On the Argonaut research station Kepler, drifting at the edge of the Kuiper Belt, life is supposed to be routine: maintenance checks, ego backups, and long stretches of quiet work in low gravity. For Ellis, Saul, Sorus, and Roland, it’s just another scheduled backup—until they wake up submerged in thick nutrient gel, struggling out of receiving pods with gaps in their memories and the station around them eerily wrong.

Four backup morphs are missing. Environmental systems feel off. Wireless communication is jammed. A familiar doctor bot suddenly speaks with the voice of their Argonaut overseer, Hans, and a simple safety procedure begins to look like something far more deliberate. As the crew pulls themselves together in medical gowns and improvised caution, they must treat their own resurrection as a potential security breach—and the Kepler itself as a crime scene at the edge of nowhere.

The Brian Diaries - Vampire: the Masquerade Lore Jun 17, 2019
    Show notes

Join us as Andrew and Chris talk about the cities of Montreal and Constantinople, and their involvement in Vampire: the Masquerade lore.

    About the Chronicle

Brian’s Diaries serves as a more introspective sister series—part journal, part commentary, part look behind the curtain. In each entry, Chris reflects on his experiences as a storyteller, podcaster, and creator within the Twin Cities by Night community. He also interviews people who are involved in the gaming community for their insights too.

Episodes explore what it means to run long-term chronicles, build living worlds, collaborate with players, and carry the emotional and creative weight of horror storytelling. The tone is honest and personal, sometimes humorous, sometimes somber, always authentic. Whether discussing past games, real-life challenges, or lessons learned through years of running narrative-heavy campaigns, Brian’s Diaries offers a rare, open look at the person behind the stories.

The Brian Book Club - True Detective Season 1 Jun 10, 2019
    Show notes

Today we talk about True Detective Season 1 and how it can be used to inspire players and storytellers in all World of Darkness games.

    About the Chronicle

Brian’s Book Club is a casual, thoughtful series where Chris discusses horror novels, genre fiction, and books that have shaped the tone and themes of Twin Cities by Night’s storytelling over the years. Each episode blends personal reflection, literary analysis, and grounded discussion on why certain stories resonate so powerfully within the horror genre.

This is not a typical review podcast—Chris focuses on atmosphere, lessons learned, narrative craft, and the emotional impact of each work. For listeners who enjoy horror, literature, behind-the-scenes creative talk, or discovering new stories that spark inspiration, Brian’s Book Club offers a grounded, intimate, and sometimes surprisingly heartfelt experience.
