Lindsay Clancy's Warning Doctors Never Acted On Aug 01, 2026
    Show notes

Lindsay Clancy told her doctors something eight days before her three children died, and whatever that warning was is now part of a trial that may not have a clean outcome no matter what the jury decides.
The prosecution and defense agree on the underlying facts. Lindsay Clancy killed Cora, Dawson, and Callan Clancy in their Duxbury, Massachusetts home. ADA Jennifer Sprague says she mapped her husband's route on Apple Maps and used the window she created with intent. Kevin Reddington's defense says a mother on thirteen psychiatric medications in four months, hospitalized at McLean and seen in the ER, was in the grip of postpartum psychosis and lacked criminal responsibility.
There's also the whiteboard. Intubated afterward and unable to speak, Lindsay Clancy was given a dry-erase board, and the first question she wrote down is one this case still hasn't resolved.
The court denied a defense motion to split the trial into two phases, which means one jury has to weigh a premeditation theory and a psychiatric defense at the same time. Patrick Clancy, the children's father, is on both witness lists, set to testify first for the prosecution and again for the defense, all while pursuing a malpractice claim against the doctors who treated his wife.
We break down the Andrea Yates precedent, where a first jury convicted on facts nearly identical to this one and a second jury acquitted, and why Massachusetts requires the prosecution, not the defense, to prove sanity beyond a reasonable doubt. Facts this close to Yates have gone both ways before. Nothing about this verdict is settled yet.

What Celeste's Family Agreed To Before She Disappeared Aug 01, 2026
    Show notes

Vegas trips with her sister. Church visits with the family. VIP concert seats at the Fonda Theatre. A notarized travel consent form for London — for an entire week, with no family chaperone. Celeste Rivas Hernandez's parents allegedly agreed to all of it before their daughter was killed.

D4vd's preliminary hearing ended July 27th with a judge ruling there's enough evidence for trial. David Anthony Burke faces first-degree murder with special circumstances, charges related to continuous illegal conduct with Celeste, and mutilation of her remains. No bail. Arraignment August 31st. The DA says the death penalty is under consideration. But the hearing's final day exposed a contradiction that won't go away — the mountain of evidence showing the family knew about the relationship, and the father's categorical denial that he'd ever met Burke.

Burke has pleaded not guilty. Celeste was fourteen years old.

What D4vd’s Family And Nolan Wells’ Friends Are Hiding Aug 01, 2026
    Show notes

Two cases with the same question at their center: what did the adults know, and why are they the last ones talking?

In California, Celeste Rivas Hernandez’s parents signed documents for their thirteen-year-old to travel internationally with d4vd and then denied knowing the man after his arrest. In Mississippi, one of the friends on Horn Island with Nolan Wells hired an attorney who announced a PI firm and nationwide defamation lawsuits before the grand jury has weighed in.

Former prosecutor Eric Faddis examines both cases in a single conversation — the legal exposure facing Celeste’s parents under California law, the defense strategy of arguing self-infliction in a dismemberment case, and the institutional vacuum in Mississippi that forced the public to fill the silence with its own investigation.

Burke has pleaded not guilty and is held without bail. Nolan Wells’ cause of death is undetermined. Both were teenagers.

Who Nolan Wells’ Friend Is Suing Over His Death Jul 31, 2026
    Show notes

Attorney Russ Latino announced that his client Bart Edmiston — a former Ocean Springs High School teammate of Nolan Wells — is preparing to file defamation lawsuits against people who accused him of killing Nolan. Latino says Bart fully cooperated with investigators from the beginning, turning over his boat, GPS data, and phone. He flatly denied that Bart killed Nolan or contributed to his death in any way and called the online accusations "wholly fabricated."Bart also received a credible death threat that has been reported to the FBI, state, and local law enforcement.A defamation lawsuit opens the door to discovery — depositions, document production, and testimony under oath. It is the legal mechanism least likely to protect someone with something to hide and most likely to surface the truth.Attorney Gary Bufkin filed subpoenas to Snapchat, TikTok, WhatsApp, Meta, and Life360 requesting login histories, IP addresses, GPS data, and message records from Nolan's accounts. A mutual cell phone inspection has been agreed to by both sides' forensic teams. The answers the internet has been demanding are coming through the legal system, not through viral speculation. The manufactured evidence — a debunked pool photo, an audio recording with a mismatched digital fingerprint, AI fakes of Nolan's mother — made the investigation harder, not easier. Every viral accusation poisons the witness pool. Every death threat pulls resources from the case. The people who turned Nolan Wells' death into content owe his family more than clicks.

Nolan Wells’ Friend’s Attorney Made WHAT Threat?! Jul 31, 2026
    Show notes

Attorney Russell Latino told reporters that anyone posting accusations about his client — one of the friends on Horn Island with Nolan Wells on July 4th — faces a nationwide defamation lawsuit. He said adding the word “allegedly” won’t protect them. A PI firm has been hired. The FBI is involved after a credible death threat.

Former prosecutor Eric Faddis examines what this legal strategy reveals and whether it would exist at all if Mississippi’s investigation had given the public any answers since Nolan Wells was found dead. The DA sealed the autopsy. The sheriff hasn’t cleared anyone. The family’s independent autopsy returned undetermined. Twenty-five days of official silence, and the only people talking publicly are the friends’ attorneys.

Faddis on whether the threat to sue opens a door the friends might not want opened — because defamation lawsuits come with discovery, and discovery goes both ways.

Nolan Wells was eighteen years old and the only one from the group who didn’t come home.

Lindsay Clancy Trial: ER Doctors and Officers Detail Her Injuries and the Children's Jul 31, 2026
    Show notes

Jurors in Plymouth Superior Court heard from five witnesses today in the murder trial of Lindsay Clancy, the Duxbury, Massachusetts mother accused of strangling her three children — 5-year-old Cora, 3-year-old Dawson, and 7-month-old Callan — with exercise resistance bands inside the family's Summer Street home on January 24, 2023. Clancy faces three counts of murder and three counts of strangulation, has pleaded not guilty, and is mounting an insanity defense through attorney Kevin Reddington centered on severe postpartum psychosis and psychiatric overmedication.

Duxbury Police Officers Mark Anthony Maffeo and Richard Lippard testified about the scene they responded to and Clancy's condition when they got there. Emergency physicians Dr. Mark Josephtenerowicz and Dr. Benjamin Kaufman followed, laying out her health on arrival at the hospital alongside the injuries the children had sustained. Lab Supervisor Melissa Arcadipane closed out the day with testimony on the clinical processing that followed.

It's the kind of testimony that doesn't need a narrator to make it hit — officers and doctors just describing what they saw and treated, one after another. That's the prosecution's strategy in a case like this: no theatrics, just a documented record for the jury to sit with before the defense makes its case for a mind that wasn't working right. Clancy is now paralyzed from the waist down after allegedly jumping from a second-story window following the killings. Her husband, Patrick Clancy, was out running errands at the time and has since relocated to Manhattan. Judge William F. Sullivan is presiding, with ADAs Jennifer Sprague and Shanan Buckingham prosecuting.

Why Patrick Clancy Got The Second Ambulance Jul 31, 2026
    Show notes

On the third day of testimony in the Lindsay Clancy murder trial, one of the most experienced defense attorneys in Massachusetts sat and watched witness after witness leave the stand without asking a single question.

Kevin Reddington thanked one Duxbury officer for his incredible service. He told the next one he had no questions. A retired firefighter finished ten minutes of testimony and walked off without any cross-examination at all.

That isn't carelessness. There's a reason, and it happened where the jury couldn't see it.

This episode covers what ten first responders described to a Plymouth jury about a Duxbury basement on January 24, 2023 — and the argument over whether they should have been allowed to describe it ten separate times. Before opening statements, Reddington moved to cap the testimony at one officer, one firefighter, one EMT. Anything past that, he argued, stops being evidence. Prosecutor Jennifer Sprague answered that trimming the witness list means dropping the testimony about one of the three children, and asked him which one that would be. Judge William Sullivan cut her off, declined to rule in advance, and said he'd take it at sidebar when it came up live.

It came up live twice. Both times, the responders testified.

Also inside: the officer who carried a three-year-old out chest to chest and went back for more, the paramedic who rode to the hospital with an eight-month-old in her arms, the second ambulance called for the children's father, and a court day that ended at 12:07 in the afternoon because the state ran out of people to call.

Tony Brueski on a morning spent proving something already conceded — while the actual question in this trial waits.

D4vd’s Attorney Told A Judge WHAT About Celeste?! Jul 31, 2026
    Show notes

Five days of testimony. A twenty-one-minute window between Celeste Rivas Hernandez’s Uber arrival and her phone going silent forever. DNA tying a fourteen-year-old’s blood to a garage, a Tesla, and a rental home. A record deal worth up to nineteen million dollars. And a defense attorney who asked the medical examiner whether the fatal wounds could have been self-inflicted.

Former prosecutor Eric Faddis reads the defense strategy Blair Berk is building and answers what the courtroom was already asking: is she actually arguing self-inflicted death in a dismemberment case, or is she stacking every fragment of reasonable doubt she can find?

The defense keeps making two claims in one sentence: Burke “did not murder” Celeste and “was not the cause of her death.” Faddis on why that split language tells you everything about where the trial is headed.

Burke has pleaded not guilty to all charges. Celeste was fourteen years old.

D4vd Was In Their Church And Celeste’s Father Said WHAT?! Jul 31, 2026
    Show notes

David Anthony Burke sat in the same church pew as Celeste Rivas Hernandez’s family. He traveled with them to Las Vegas. Her sister came along. The parents signed a notarized travel consent form sending their thirteen-year-old to London with him. And then, after Burke’s arrest for Celeste’s murder, her father told reporters through his attorney that he’d never had any contact with the singer.

Former prosecutor Eric Faddis breaks down the evidence that surfaced during the five-day preliminary hearing about what Celeste’s parents knew, what they signed, and what they denied — and whether California’s child endangerment statute gives prosecutors a path to charging the adults who allegedly facilitated everything that happened to their daughter.

Testimony showed Celeste was pregnant at thirteen. A teacher reported concerns. Deputies visited Burke’s home. Nobody with authority acted on what they found. Faddis on who bears legal responsibility beyond the defendant.

Burke has pleaded not guilty to all charges and is held without bail. Celeste was fourteen years old.

Bryan Kohberger Did THIS To The People Who Saved Him Jul 31, 2026
    Show notes

The Kohberger family rebuilt their son from the ground up. Addiction treatment, two degrees, a doctoral program across the country. They used the word "proud" publicly, and they'd put in the years to say it.

That word now sits next to four consecutive life sentences handed down by Judge Steven Hippler, a son who walked out of a courtroom past his own mother without turning his head, and a handwritten post-conviction petition filed July 27 naming the defense lawyers who saved his life as incompetent.

Bryan is representing himself. He told a reporter at the New York Times before he told his family.

But the petition isn't where this starts. In 2014, nineteen-year-old Bryan — days out of rehab, sleeping in his father's house, eating his father's food — stole his sister's phone, sold it for cash at a mall kiosk, and told his father "don't do anything stupid" when he was caught. His father called the police on his own son. Monroe County's diversion program wiped the record. And the family fixed him anyway.

This letter is addressed directly to that family. To the mother who sat through the impact statements. The sister who keeps annual birthday reminders for each of the four victims. The family that still bakes a cake on his birthday to specifications he sends from prison.

The argument isn't to stop loving him. It's that whatever they owed has been paid. That letting go costs nothing except an audience — and audience is the only currency Bryan has ever spent.
